It happened: #Habs trade Carey Price's contract and a 2026 5th round pick to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Gannon Laroque.

Despite not playing since 2022, the Carey Price era has officially ended. He started playing with us 18 years ago, and has just been traded, alongside a 5th round pick, to the San Jose Sharks. Thank you for your service, Carey. Welcome to the org, Ganondorf.

It heavily depends on the player. If it’s just a 2C? Rein is absolutely not on the table. Unless we’re getting someone ELITE, rein should be untouchable. He’s our best RD prospect by a significant margin, moving him for a 2C would be a big mistake.

I would love that a lot! I’m curious who we inevitably end up choosing, or if we can’t find a good trade and keep one/both picks

Our boys have a long way to go still, played great this year and not a single one of our young players is at their peak yet, I’m VERY excited for next year.

I disagree. I wouldn’t say missing the playoffs is an underachievement considering we are overachieving this year as a whole. It would be disappointing but to say that it’s an underachievement is disingenuous to how well we have played this year.

Obviously it’s not good to lose out on a playoff spot in the way we could, but we are an incredibly young team and we can’t expect us to always play incredibly. If we miss this year, it just means we come back next year with a hunger only the playoffs could satiate.

It would be very unfortunate but considering our expectations were to finish ~9th last in the league this year, I’m very happy with it. We haven’t been great recently but we are still an incredibly young team.

I feel it very important to understand that even if we don’t make playoffs, this was still an extremely successful season. Caufield is finally scoring like we knew he would, Suzuki hit ppg, Hutson is elite already, and Demidov looks great. We absolutely blew expectations out of the water!

Ivan Demidov is set to make his debut today against Chicago! He will be playing on a line with Armia and Newhook.

My guess is he walks or gets traded. He and Fowler can run Laval for the next year or 2 until Fowler is NHL ready, and by then Primeau will probably walk or be signed as our long term AHL goalie.

Jacob Fowler has officially signed a contract with us! Should hopefully be playing his first game in Laval relatively soon.

He definitely is but with how much he struggled earlier this year I’m not sure he can be our long term backup. Especially with dobes doing as good as he’s been? Primeau might be trade bait.

Fowler joining the rocket would actually be so good right now, he’d kill it in a playoff run.

Yeah, I’m very happy with how it’s been so far! 5-0-1 is extremely good, everyone has played exceptionally well so far.

While a loss isn’t great, a point at all is super important. We can use as many points as possible.
