Really impressed with that win considering no Trocheck & losing Soucy for more than half that game. Total team effort, but bottom 6 was especially good. Laba had his best game. 4th line is a force. Fox reminding people how damn good he is. #NYR

Well that was night & day from opening night vs PIT. Complete domination last 2 periods. Happy #NYR  came through for Sullivan in his return. Can see the forecheck, tenacity & structure they want to play in. Special teams were tremendous. Shesterkin had big 1st to settle them

Absolutely brutal. Guess it’s better than happen now with so much runway left in the season. Trocheck plays in so many situations & does so much that it is hard to replace. #NYR

Good news is both goals were very lucky

So weird. Didn’t notice anything happen to Trocheck. Hope nothing too bad bc with JT Miller already banged up, this hurts even more. #NYR

A #NYR  win, goals, & an Igor shutout. Things you love to see. Way better energy than opening night. Loved the 1st, hated the 2nd, but loved the 3rd to lock it down & put it away. PK came up big & Shesterkin was incredible especially when needed in that middle period

As terrible a start as I can remember. So slow, uninspired, disjointed and boring. Against a rebuilding team too. Certainly kills a lot of excitement. Ugly stuff. Not what you want when trying to put last yr behind you. #NYR

The Sullivan factor is def one that can play a big role. Metro & East are pretty open, so we will see if #NYR can take advantage. Key will be playing more sound D for once, special teams, & forecheck. For 1st time in a while, def feel like there’s good options in Hartford to help

The top 6 forwards, top D pair, & goalie are up there on paper with anyone. It’s going to boil down to the depth. Whether it’s guys on roster now or kids in Hartford, they will need bounce back from stars & that depth to come through to put them in a good position. #NYR

On the eve of a new #NYR season, I def feel excitement again. There’s things to look forward to. Centennial season, Winter Classic, new coaching staff. Fresh start for this team. Have to hope there is chip on everyone’s shoulders to rebound after that embarrassing last season

Really happy for Noah Laba. Had a good Rookie Series & took that momentum into training camp & preseason. He was noticeable each game with his speed, defensive play, & production. He had to be rewarded & fills that 3C role. Looking forward to seeing if he can stick long term

Def was inevitable based on practice today. Sheary def had a nice preseason, knows Sullivan’s systems, & worth it to try at that contract. Worst case if it doesn’t work, he can easily be stashed in the AHL. #NYR

I know Sullivan said #NYR was being cautious with Miller and Panarin, but nice to see them both practice in full & deemed ready for opening night. Always good to start at full strength

#NYR Preseason Game 6 Standouts: hard to really pick any. Guess Cuylle, Lafreniére, Fox, & Laba had some nice moments if I had to pick any

Perreault had really good preseason. Looks decisive, quick, made a lot of good plays & scored. He will thrive with big min in Hartford. Was nice to see him show he is good enough to play in NHL. Would have to think only matter up time before he’s back up with the big club. #NYR

The Perreault thing I get bc he isn’t going to get top 6 time but Morrow makes no sense. #NYR needs that type of skill set he offers on D whether it’s puck moving or running PP2. Thought he looked plenty good enough where he could play now. Hopefully will back up soon

Did he get reinjured or something? How is Panarin suddenly “day to day” when he was cleared and has been practicing

Close look at Igor Shesterkin’s main mask this season. #NYR

Super disappointed in Othmann. Spot was right there for the taking this yr. Def seems like he puts so much pressure on himself. Had only one good preseason game after good rookie series. Still young but feel he is at a crossroads bc Perreault/Berard are above him on depth chart. #NYR

Laba has done nothing but get better & better. Every game he is noticeable & making things happen. What a nice OT winner tonight. Doing everything he can to make it hard on Sullivan & Drury to send him down. Started in Rookie Series & built off each game. What a nice surprise he has been. #NYR

It was quite long at the Rookie Series. Barely fit

What a massive relief. Always hold your breath with those non contact injuries. Losing JT Miller would’ve been such a gut punch to start the season. #NYR

Dorrington is one guy who put his name on the map for a possible depth D with #NYR in the future. Didn’t know a ton about him but he impressed me at Rookie Series & in his preseason games. There’s def a NHL defenseman there at some point. Nice surprise

Guess it would be a change of pace to not rush these kids to start out with especially in a reduced role & have them come up when truly ready. It’s been fun seeing how good Perreault/Morrow/Laba look especially. They have earned a look to me with their play. #NYR

Certainly feels like this is the #NYR opening night lineup if you take out line 4 and D pair 5. Looks like they want to start vet heavy. Guess it allows all the kids to get big minutes in AHL & come up later. Figured at least one of Berard/Perreault/Morrow/Laba might sneak in tho
