I planted Woodland Strawberry last fall as baby plants I grew from seed. When I planted them, I found a volunteer one that came from "who knows where" and planted itself in one of my beds. They have not emerged much yet. I am looking forward to seeing how they do this summer. #VirginiaNativePlants

When I was there promotions didn't affect it, unless the promotion changed your status (like from part time or temporary to career conditional). Once you got to "career" status you essentially had tenure. However some of the highest grades I think can be fired.

When I worked for the govt, "career conditional" was the period of time one worked there (I think 3 years) before gaining career status (sort of like tenure for university professors). After that, you couldn't be fired without cause or due process.
