Instead of binning spammy scammy emails from dubious book clubs and other services, I decided to screenshot the effusive, detailed praise of my absolute brilliance to
help massage my delicate ego. ๐

Read any books by my cousin? You may have heard of her! ๐
I wanted to message a human at an airline using their online chatbot. I requested this, waited 20 minutes. By then, I was finally next in the queue. I accidentally closed the webpage!!! ๐ฑ๐ญ Back to number 7 in the queue and probably 30 minutes of waiting. ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐ญ
Over on ๐ชก everyone is fishing for a fight. It's the new angry place. Wuthering Heights, BAFTA Tourette's, the blonde Darcy, Rufus Sewell should/should not be the new Darcy, who's an undeserving nepo baby, etc, etc. I'm just going to stay here, thank you! ๐ ๐โฎ๏ธ
Normalize laughing derisively in men's faces when they deserve it.
It is so hard to decide what to eat when you're exhausted.
I expect to be hauled over to the European Court of Human Rights in Maastricht for my unpopular defence of the right to enjoy the new film "Wuthering Heights" without being persecuted by Bronte zealots. ๐ โ๏ธ
It seems like Wuthering Heights is cinema Marmite (much like Saltburn was). Is it wicked of me to enjoy all the bitter arguments being flung out left and right? I can understand disliking a film adaptation. I refused to see Demi Moore's Scarlet Letter. But I didn't blow a gasket!
I saw #WutheringHeights today, having avoided the slew of negative reviews. It's wasn't bad! Purists will hate it, but I enjoyed it. Emerald Fennel gave it a Bridgerton style. Martin Clunes was a surprise revelation. The younger cast were brilliant. See it and judge for yourself.
Is it just me, or is this place completely crickets and tumbleweeds? I thought it might be just me not having any traction with my posts, but I've looked at many author accounts I'm following and they rarely get more than single digits in likes. Does Blue Sky dislike authors? ๐ค
#RegencyRomance ? Here is a series to discover.

I was looking at this old guidebook to Kirby Hall from 2000, and discovered it was an early written work by the incomparable @lucyworsley.bsky.social

Wow! One year ago today, I launched this little gem. I can't believe that I actually published 2 novels in 2025! I was on fire! I've slowed down a bit... ๐

Here's the video of the #HistoricalFiction panel at the Aylesbury Self-pub Fest, in case you missed it and wanted to have a peek. ๐

Thanks Keith! Much appreciated. ๐
I will be on the #HistoricalFiction panel today at noon at the Aylesbury Self Pub Fest. Many genres throughout the day and it doesn't cost a thing, so Google and register ๐
The Aylesbury Self Pub Festival is on Sunday. It is free online for anyone to attend, but you must reserve your space. Lots of genres and authors, including me. ๐ Also, there's an ideas panel for authors. Please spread the word, and hope to virtually see you!
Everyone knows that Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, but did you know that she wrote one of the first dystopian novels ever? The Last Man deals with the story of the sole survivor of a great plague that wipes out humanity. Much derided at the time, it was her favourite novel.
Question about DRM. I only break out my kindle on holidays and prefer a print book: I have DRM switched on - and I am quite reticent to switch it off, as I was one of the few not to have my book skimmed for AI training (cos' my book was awful? ๐ ). Please give me good reasons why I should turn it off
Let's talk about fonts. I've always loved Garamond as it is traditional and seems a great fit for my historical novels. But my daughter having dyslexia has made me think I should use a sans serif font. Also, size of fonts needs to be considered. Any thoughts? ๐ค #writingcommunity
Profound message from my stupid game! ๐ ๐
Life truly can be stranger than fiction.
It's been a long time since I did an author interview. Here I am, interviewed by organiser of the Aylesbury Self Pub Festival, Morgen Bailey: youtu.be/mRy3Co22qEs?...
I will be a panellist for the history writer panel at the Aylesbury Self Publishing Festival. 25th of January. The event is online and tickets are free - there are many other genres represented throughout the day, including Crime, Children's and Women's. self-pub-fest.co.uk
