All those users are downloading a lot of content. In 2024 we delivered about 80 exabytes to customers, and in 2025 that grew to 100 exabytes. It's hard to make sense of such a huge number, but just for fun: Steam users are averaging 274 petabytes of installs and updates per day- that's 11.42 petabytes per hour, which is about 190,000 GB of data per minute.

I think there's also a stigma against it so people might be avoiding documenting their use, and will answer truthfully in surveys.

I genuinely, truly hope you're right. If not, i can at least hope that the bubble will pop because none of these peoducts are financially viable at the price anyone's willing to pay, and we'll find opportunity for smarter, smaller, more SME-based tools.

*I* don't disagree with you on the big picture. I am *very* concerned with what it's going to do to programming skills and juniors, and the amount of slop it will pour into the system for the sake of "efficiency".
But to bring it back to your original q re adoption? I don't think people are lying.

Is the benefir quantifiable, or justifiable, financially? Fuck if i know.
But ive heard or read the phrase "this did for me in [X] hours what would have taken me [Y] days" more than a handful of times.

I don't know, i think we may be in a bubble or echo chamber. I see people using it almost everywhere. I think we'e exchanged posts on this before.
A lot of my peers really do think it's useful to them, and it's a hard convo to have.
