Many have already seen the open letter to Dr. Bhattacharya and RFK Jr. from over 300 NIH staff. The letter makes a clear statement in support of science, public health, and equity.

βItβs the registry without the word βregistryβ in it,β said David Mandell, a professor of psychiatry and longtime autism researcher at the University of Pennsylvania.
It would improve trust if people could opt out of having their data included in the "real-world platform"/registry.
A flyer titled Autistic Autism Diagnosticians Collaborative with a decorative logo in the top right corner and horizontal bars with additional details, as follows: Who? Credentialed, autistic professionals who assess and diagnose autism. What? A free, collaborative space for peer support, mentorship, resource sharing, learning, and could extend to advocacy and research collaborations (if interested). Why? Autistic perspectives are critical for improving diagnostic access, clarifying differential diagnoses, and examining the impact of the autistic neurotype on diagnostic decision making. Where? We are an international group! Zoom virtual meetings; other platform(s) TBD. https://bit.ly/AutisticDiagnostics Note at bottom center reads: We welcome self-identified autistic clinicians and autistic professionals in training to undertake diagnostic assessments.

A1: My top priority is for senior researchers in the field to examine their own positionality, for many of them to realise that they too are autistic, to embrace this, explore what it means for themselves & our community, and then - when ready - to own it and come out publicly
