Beautiful Swedish wedding at @stmarysworstead.bsky.social today. The bride and groom walked down the aisle together, Swedish style. A great idea. Might it start a trend?

A prayer for the Middle East

God of mercy, look with compassion
on all who are affected by the present conflict.
Grant insight to hardened hearts,
comfort to the fearful,
protection to those in danger,
and hope to those who are despairing,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Join us in praying for peace in the Middle East. 🙏

Standing with Archbishop Hosam and our Palestinian Anglican sisters and brothers, I condemn yet another callous, reckless attack on the Anglican-run Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

Despite our repeated requests, the Israeli Government has been unable to prove its claims that Al-Ahli Hospital has been used by Hamas.

Instead this is part of a relentless and outrageous pattern of attacks on hospitals and healthcare facilities in Gaza. There is no justification for this under international humanitarian law.

These bombings must stop. As the Church of England bishops said recently, this war of aggression must cease. Renewing that call, I join with our Anglican sisters and brothers in Palestine and Israel in crying out for justice, mercy and peace.

Stephen Cottrell
Archbishop of York

Three cheers for our volunteers! 🎉

We're celebrating Volunteers Week, where we thank the people who give their time to welcome visitors, share the stories of the places we care for, keep the gardens looking their best and so much more.

Summer is here: kites are flying high above East Anglia Dragons and fighting kites may be coming to a hill or a beach near you – and in Herts, don't miss the celebration of St Albans School of Art

That lovely blue sky draws our attention upwards and many of us are fascinated by airborne activity -- birds, aircraft, or your own contribution of a kite... Kate Viscardi writes
