When I first got the engine in
Removed the crank and main caps, went through found almost 0 wear on anything, a perfectly fine 3970010 2 bolt block, just gave it a hone!
Gave it a nice new paintjob, Chevy orange!
Put the crank in, polished it right up and had it ground .020/.020 on the mains and rod journals, stock style 3.480” stroke, Added some BPG main bolts 180,000PSI, and new bearings and plugs all around and a new oil filter adapter! .005 fore and aft thrust, .0026 clearance on the mains!
Working on a customers 350, .Std bore, flat top 4V relief, will be getting. Retro fit roller cam, double roller billet timing set! Really enjoying this build as it moves along.

A little more progress, it’s just a drip feed for now..
Water pumps on and such… still need to get the pistons on the rods, and all the rings gapped, check the rod bearing to crank journal clearence… after that the bottom end will be done! Then it can be buttoned up!

More work with this ol’ small block Chevy, I genuinely love these engines, fun to work on with a huge aftermarket, my favorite engine followed by the big block Chevy.
