There're a lot of very cool creative folks--many still on itch--who've had their livelihoods threatened by bad actor payment processors and credit card companies. Support their SFW work. Support their NSFW work if it's still listed and buyable. Make sure they can keep on making cool stuff.

This fight over “should authors get paid for their work” debate boils down to this: many, MANY people do not see art as labor.
If art isn’t labor, then you don’t have to change your political views to justify piracy. Easy peasy!

Honestly, people calling creators the "petite bourgeoisie" makes me want to snap.

We're working folk. And we work really hard. For next to nothing.

We're not lounging around eating bonbons. We're trying to figure out how we're going to be able to pay rent next month.

When you fight censorship, you're also fighting for things you might not exactly like and it's something you gotta get comfortable with. I promise you, the fetish game you turn your nose up at is NOT YOUR ENEMY. You must think of the bigger picture, you must not fall for the bait.

I’ll be 28 in less than a week, thats really young in the grand scheme of things. I get caught up in trying to Be Something, but I don’t need to be a good artist right now. I just need to make things and fail better.

I don’t think I’m a great artist, or even a good one most of the time. But I do think that every time I ask myself those questions and do my best to act on them, and make something new with those failures in mind, I get a little closer to being one.

Like after every painting, comic, story, any project; i kind of do a personal autopsy of it and ask myself “what was successful here? What wasn’t?” And i try to have that inform what I do next. I have notes in my sketchbook dissecting things I’ve made to understand better how I failed

I’ve been thinking about art a lot (crazy right) and I think my art and my writing has gotten better when I stopped trying to make something good and instead just tried to make something better than the last thing I made.
