When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). - There are full-on police checkpoints most nights
- Gangs of 30+ federal agents roam DC
- National Guard folks w/ guns patrolling a Harris Teeter
- Every day, multiple friends see ICE kidnapping ppl
- Daycares are scared to have kids go on walks due to ICE

After Watergate, Congress passed laws to protect sensitive taxpayer information. Now, the Trump-Vance administration is unlawfully facilitating mass sharing of taxpayer data with ICE.

So we’re suing on behalf of tax experts and advocates.

Today, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland ruled in favor of the coalition, declaring that the Trump-Vance administration’s attempt to require school districts throughout the nation to censor lessons, abandon student support programs, and certify their compliance with the administration’s unlawful interpretation of civil rights is unconstitutional. This decision in our case proves the admin's attempt to weaponize federal funding & require compliance w/ their flawed interpretation of civil rights is unlawful.

More (?) importantly, this is the exact reasoning that John Roberts used to uphold Tennessee's ban on gender-affirming medical care for minors in June.

The right says there's an issue; the NYT writes about it; lawmakers "debate" it; it becomes law; and Roberts says, "Well, there is a debate!"

democrats are going to be dealing with anti-trans hate until they either

- nut the fuck up and defend these people from bigoted attacks

- concede to every republican attack on the issue, inevitably leading to the total eradication of trans people from all public life

a lot of rank and file dems do not seem to understand that trans people are in an existential battle for our right to be part of society right now. the government today is trying to use employment law and federal extortion to ban us from bathrooms.

I keep thinking of Brad Lander's "fighters and folders" line from Cancel Me Daddy a couple weeks ago. Dem voters want fights right now. What Pete, Gavin, and Rahm are signaling is they're willing to fold on this issue.

Dem voters are simply wondering what else they'll fold on and want none of this.
