Just a snapshot observation. Not deep dive analysisβ¦
Dylan Mooreβs productivity vs 4-seam fastballs is lower this year compared to recent seasons. His whiff rate is significantly higher, too.
Itβs worth noting Trevor Rogers fed Dylan a steady diet of 4-seamers in his first PA.

Exit velo isnβt everything. But interesting choice to this nerd to bring out Logan Gilbert for the seventh considering the exit velo allowed in the sixth inning.

One moreβ¦a look at Dylan Mooreβs numbers vs 4-seam fastballs *in* in the strike zone.
The decline in production is *dramatically* lower in 2025.

The home and road OPS of active #Mariners (and Luke Raley) with the exception of deadline additions.
Most hitters have a lower home OPS, which is expected. But the delta of Julio RodrΓguez, Mitch Garver, and Donovan Solano.
Julio's is most interesting since he's a regular.

The road production of active #Mariners (and Luke Raley). Deadline additions not included.
Julio RodrΓguez's road production has been All-Star caliber.

The #Mariners road offense is top essentially three in MLBβ¦.

.261 AVG (3rd)
.335 OBP (3rd)
.434 SLG (3rd
.334 wOBA (2nd)
Also, the Mβs 21.6 SO% on the road is eighth lowest in baseball.

With 42 games remaining in the regular season, the #Mariners simply have to win one more game than the Astros the rest of the way to finish ahead of Houston in the AL West and wildcard standings.

MLB record for most walks in a nine-inning game is held by Jimmie Foxx (6)
Players with most nine-inning games with four-plus walks during a careerβ¦

Last night, Cole Young became the 25th #Mariners hitter to walk four-plus times in a nine-inning game.
The lone Mariner to walk five times was a 41-year-old Rickey Henderson.
Ken Griffey Jr., Alvin Davis, and Jay Buhner walked four times twice. Edgar MartΓnez did it FIVE times.
Among 245 hitters with at least 50 plate appearances since the All-Star break, Cole Young has the highest walk rate and eighth lowest strikeout rate.
#Mariners
Cole Young has been reaching base more frequently than his teammates during the current home stand.
This is a small sample. But perhaps Young eventually becomes the best leadoff option for the #Mariners?
Decided to look at the usage of #Mariners bench and platoon players through the season.
The following illustrates what most of you already sensed. Less reliance on Dylan Moore, Dominic Solano, Miles Mastrobuoni in recent months with Dominic Canzone becoming an everyday player.

There is one 2nd half metric that's piquing my interest. Julio RodrΓguez is going to the opposite field much more frequently than the 1st half and has enjoyed greater success thus far.

Some suggest Julio RodrΓguez hits ground balls so hard heβs quite productive when doing so. Yes and no.
Julio's 1st/2nd half AVG's on ground balls *are* better than the MLB average. But...
His .380 AVG on hard-hit GBs ranks mid-pack in MLB and 4th on the #Mariners.
4/6
Julio RodrΓguez still has a high ground ball rate, as he did in the first half, which this nerd sees as suboptimal for a power bat. Maybe you disagree.
Julio is also pulling fly balls and line drives less often (Pull AIR) since the All-Star game.

Julio RodrΓguez is barreling balls more frequently and has a higher SLG since the All-Star game. Butβ¦
Heβs reaching base far less often than he did in the 1st half. Julio is also striking out more and walking less (something heβs never done a lot of).
