BRAK SAYS TRANS RIGHTS

This is your brain on transphobia. Where every single aspect of your gender gets hyper scrutinized to ensure you fit some Republican dickhead's idea of your gender.

Twitter screenshot showing tweets as below

Dr Michael Foran "Anyone involved in this has tipped whatever was left of their sanity into something that is in no way worthy of respect in a democratic society. They have forfeited whatever equality and non-discrimination protections they thought they had. Nothing based on this is WORIADS"

Andrew Doyle "The lunatic fringe of the GC movement strikes again. Creating an online database of trans-identifying individuals under the guise of "safeguarding" is about as authoritarian as it" Screenshots of tweets that read

@ QueenMéabh @ QueenMeabh 1h Replying to @michaelpforan and @getupowitha
"You think men should skinwalk us?"

Dr Michael Foran @michaelpforan Follow Replying to @_QueenMeabh and @getupowitha
"What do you want to do? Ban men from wearing certain. clothes? Require them to have short hair? Ban men wearing makeup? Just say what you want the state to do here"

Andrew Doyle @andrewdoyle com Replying to @michaelpforan @ QueenMeabh and @getupowitha
"They will never answer this question. They should at least have the courage of their convictions I admit they want state-enforced dress codes according to sex."

The GCs are fighting with each other over a concerning website one of them set up 🍿

A milestone? The NYT floats the "fascist" label for Trump in a news story without putting it exclusively in the mouths of critics:

What Is a Woman? (a response) Last month, I received an invitation to participate in a public debate about “gender and the definition of what it means to be a woman.”…

so I was provoked into writing a response to the ridiculous "What Is a Woman?" question. it's a 5 min read, no-paywall link, please share & give it lots of "claps" (up to 50) so other folks on Medium see it! juliaserano.medium.com/what-is-a-wo...

Bluesky's AT protocol is an approach to decentralized social networks with portable identities that keep us separate because we cannot accept the true social network, human instrumentality

This is a *great* read, and worth ones time to read through. I resonate so very strongly with much of the experiences shared and talked about here by Taylor and suspect a great many others will too. Read it and share if you'd like.

A trans woman on the cover of time magazine. Let's hope it goes better for us than the last one

I think there are two ways to get attention online as a transfemme. The first is constant flirting and hornyposting, and the second is being vaguely asexual and constant theoryposting. I'm more of the latter than the former, but to be fair, I really don't post enough for either one.

Anyway, I hope you like it, I'd like to keep working on this particular intersection of queer psychedelic philosophy, so maybe I'll be able to wrap up those loose ends on my blog, Entheogender https://medium.com/@Antifascist_Psychedelia

Parts of it are drawn from the chapter i wrote in the Queering Psychedelic book, and I think there are a couple loose ends that I could have tied up a little better here. But I was working within time constraints both in terms of the presentation and writing it.

It's actually an abridged version of the talk that I gave at the Queering Psychedelics II conference in San Francisco in April, the video of which will hopefully be available soon

I wrote an essay about being transgender in the psychedelic movement!

While many people might accept that having a transgender identity is not a choice, it’s still broadly true that accessing a medical transition is largely framed as a choice–including by transgender people ourselves. This isn’t in error–not every person whose sense of themselves defies their assigned gender will want or should be required to access any range of medical care before that identity is respected by institutions and individuals. Many trans people describe this decision-making process as determining whether a given surgery or hormone is “right” for them, and how that “rightness” is defined depends greatly on their subjective experience of their own body and their own understanding of what “trans” even means.

The reliance on medical studies and the approval of medical associations in trans advocacy and media coverage is, by design, an effort to convert this subjective experience into objective measurements. This ultimately, however, leads audiences to decide which “objective”

Writing something I've just been furiously angry about for years and it feels amazing

Hi! Instead of talking about the bad Wemple piece you should be talking about this piece showing how far-right activists are using propaganda to kill abortion and trans rights
