Unfortunately, the very next night, she moved a bit. I looked up to see what was happening. It was the moment I dreaded.

7.01.2025, at 12:30am, Natty passed away due to old age, while in blankets and receiving pets from me (who she loved)

The night after I posted this, I allowed her to sleep like this on a pillow next to me

6am, still being dark, I got woken up; Natty moved to cuddle with me 🥰 she was the one who woke me up, I was grumpy, but I wasn't mad at her or anything. I warmly think of this moment 🥰

My ratto, Natty, laying peacefully while wrapped in blankets ❤️ Although my heart breaks, seeing her struggle from her age, at least I know her potential last moments will be warm and calm (and not sure when it'll be the final moment) 💔

I swear, why do rats have such a short life span 😭

small question, if i can know, how did you come up with the name Natty? For me, Natty came from word Naughty at first (she was something when she was so tiny, alright, constantly causing trouble while being adorable; we name our rats after their personal traits)
