I’m not a Colbert or Kimmel stan, but I am a ride-or-die for free speech. Once it’s gone, it doesn’t come back in four years—it becomes a story we tell our kids, like “baloney used to be 25¢ a pound… and I used to have free speech.”

Dear Disney,

You may be the happiest place on earth, but it’s a crap-tastic world after all if we lose free speech.

Cancel subs. Skip parks, cruises, merch. Don’t help them silence us.

At this point it's not even just that they're lying, it's that the lies are so insultingly obvious. This is up there with "no, the details of an imminent airstrike weren't classified" and "we have no way of getting abductees back from the guy we're paying to house them."

Again, YOU are the ones killing your own industry. Don't blame anyone else for killing journalism.

These so-called journalists parroting press releases are the biggest sources of the disinformation that has allowed the broligarchy the highest levels of power centralization and control.

Every single elected member of Congress - all 535 of them - should be on their feet shouting for Hegseth’s resignation and an immediate inquiry into his communications and any earlier Signal related scandal.

Whether it’s their committee or not, they should ALL be calling for it.

This has always been an obvious problem with their slapdash approach. You can temporarily “save money” on paper by deciding to randomly stop paying bills. But if it turns out you needed some of that stuff, it’s ultimately going to be more expensive.

Nothing will ever be the same. There will need to be a lot of soul searching and new guardrails placed to strengthen any democracy we have remaining.

Sometimes, I feel like everything is garbage & I get overwhelmed but then I imagine how I'd feel if I was a raccoon and suddenly, being surrounded by garbage isn't so bad. In fact, by raccoon standards, being surrounded by garbage is actually great. Life is about perspective.

Young tankie died for fascist oligarchs

Michael Gloss, the son of the CIA Deputy Director for Digital Innovations, Julian Gloss, was killed while helping Russia invade Ukraine.

Michael turned into a tankie and swallowed online hammer and sickle propaganda, leading him to die on behalf of the fascist right wing Russian kleptocracy.

Most people don’t know this (but it’s public info), the SecDef’s office is more secure than the Oval Office. The Oval has “SCIF-like” features, but doesn’t fully comply to ICD 705 standards. The SecDef office was purpose built as a SCIF to meet ICD 705 spec.

Hegseth had an unsecured internet line set up in his office to connect to Signal, AP sources say Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had an internet connection that bypassed the Pentagon’s security protocols set up in his office to use the Signal messaging app on a personal computer.

I don’t buy that he was “going to the back of his office where he could access a wifi signal.

That office is a SCIF, the windows even have RF shielding films and mesh, a wifi signal won’t penetrate it. And you can’t exactly call Comcast to install a line, so if he had a “dirty” line, it’s Starlink.

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

The linked piece explores the ideological framework of “Neo-Idealism” as a potential counterweight to the short-sighted transactional approach incorporated across multiple administrations and argues the necessity of a theory of victory for Ukraine.

By making excessive accommodations towards Russian interests and accepting Russian sabre-rattling and nuclear threats at face-value, the United States has unintentionally advanced a “Russia First” policy agenda.

4/ This honestly is perhaps the most insane thing we’ve heard since Jan 20. Musk, Thiel and Luckey want the US to pay for the creation of this network of surveillance and attack lasers and then the Pentagon will become a subscriber to the service. So the US won’t own our own missile defense.
