Got so little sleep as I was worried about Luna's first night home after surgery. I slept next to her pen in a sleeping bag lmao

She finally peed this morning and absolutely wolfed down her breakfast and I cannot describe the sheer relief I feel omfg

Surgeon just called and said the surgery went perfectly and she is now in recovery 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Called to check on her and they just put her under anasthesia a couple of minutes ago. I thought she would have been done by now 😭

Just dropped Luna off at the vet for her surgery and I'm fucking spiraling

Saying goodbye to her was literally the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I know she will be fine but god. It is so hard to stay rational. She is my world.

They aren't sure whether they'll need to do bilateral surgery, either. So she might be having it done on both her hind legs. The recovery will be absolutely brutal for her. I want to throw up. My poor baby 😭😭😭

Just found out that Luna is having her surgery on Tuesday. I feel sick. I am terrified for her 😭

It's without, sadly! Because we visited the vet about her leg a few months ago before we got insurance (even though there was no diagnosis then), it is still considered a pre-existing condition so her insurance won't cover it 😭

Strict rest = lots of stuffed frozen Kongs 🐾

I put mashed kibble, carrots, green beans, and a smear of pumpkin and peanut butter in this one and Luna is absolutely loving it

Anyone have any other suggestions for mental stimulation? She also has a lick mat and bully sticks (with a holder)

Obviously I will find a way to pay it and will sell everything if I have to! But I am just so, so stressed out about her being in pain and the thought of her being under anesthesia is really fucking me up

Luna 100% needs surgery, she has a torn CCL (dog equivalent of her ACL)

Vet says her other one is showing signs of weakness so is recommending a bilateral knee surgery as it will blow out eventually anyway

We don't have a quote from the surgeon just yet but she thinks it will be $8k+ 🫠
