This study of 3,400+ ultrasounds shows accuracy improves with experience—~29 scans to reach 90% accuracy and ~80 for 95%.

Monitor continuously. Always support ABCs.

🔹 Rectal: widely available, easy to place—but lags during rewarming
🔹 Esophageal: best real-time core temp (intubated pts), reflects cardiac temp

In critical cases → consider 2 central sites for accuracy.

At @ChildrensPhila, the Adolescent Protection Collaborative (APC) provides trauma-informed, interdisciplinary care for youth at risk for or experiencing trafficking & exploitation.

📊 CHOP research highlights a critical gap:

• 87% of trafficked youth had a healthcare visit in the year before identification
• Only 24% were screened for sexual exploitation in the ED
