-yes
but what did it cost you?
-everything
As the article (in thread) says, outsize SUVs cost the public purse more in terms of strain on the infrastructure & pollution, and are far more dangerous for pedestrians & cyclists. Yes, we should tax them and their usage heavily. Why on Earth should the rest of us subsidise this obnoxious trend?
god grant me the serenity to lmao

All is not lost. The programme for government hasn't been made law yet so we can still push them back. DM me if you want in on the fun.
It will take all of us in Belgium working together, retail and NGO workers alike. The future is ours!

We were on strike as Arizona is coming for us all, Belgian or not. In short, if you work here then join a union.
Our pensions, overtime and benefits are all under threat. Nevermind it being Belgium's most right-wing, pro-Israel and anti-climate government in history.
First we wrangled enough workers from our Mundo in Matonge, then we swung past Troon on the way to Madou for the first major NGO action in years.
After that, we joined striking retail workers at their picket lines in Brussels city centre and showed them our solidarity as loud as we could manage.
Huge day on strike with the #FairCSOs crowd yesterday!
Climate orgs, unions and many more from across the Brussels non-profit world came out in huge numbers to protest the the new Belgian "Arizona" government.
Massive thanks to everyone who came and especially to those who helped organise!
๐ฃ Yesterday, NGO workers joined the national strike in Belgium, marking the first NGO picket in recent years.
All social spending cuts affect us - we're standing against Arizona's social desert! Read the first-hand NGO workers' insights on @brusselstimes.com๐๐พ

It's a bit dead in here, every night. The Daringman, which shut at the end of 2024. It opened during WW2 as the Ballon du Centre. The Brussels region wanted it protected as an example of 'cheap deco' but the Monuments Commission was having none of it.

As promised, here are the slides I shared with students to convince them to NOT use chatGPT and other artificial stupidity.
TL;DR? AI is evil, unsustainable and stupid, and I'd much rather they use their own brains, make their own mistakes, and actually learn something. ๐ช
Thereโs a certain kind of person out there who has an easier time imagining AGI than an economic bubble. That person will also readily tell you critics lack imagination and simply don't understand exponentiality.
