Humming along, she tutted as she picked up the untouched breakfast plate from his tray. What a waste. All those starving children in the world. A plucking on a sleeve got her attention. ‘Are you my mum?’ he asked. #WriteCBC

It didn’t take her long to notice it was missing. She wailed for days. I almost put it back just to shut her up. I excelled myself though, she even sent me an email to say thank you for being so supportive. I place her contacts book in my bedside drawer with the rest of my collection. #WriteCBC

The pastel pink front door is my first red flag, that and the fluffy keychain the key came on. I hear my dad: beggars can’t be choosers. I haul my small suitcase over the threshold, my trainers squeaking in protest on the polished parquet floor. I’m hot with desperation. This has to work. #WriteCBC
