One Battle After Another (2025) *** This movie felt like a big, beautiful nothing burger to me. Can't say I like the message it lays out but it has pieces of a movie I would've loved. It's got weird and warped performances that are entertaining at times if not downright cartoonish but I just can't fully buy it's criticism of revolutionaries of the past AND modern era.

“I don’t think I’ll ever have enough energy to do what I want” is something I keep wrangling with while doing screening interviews for this doc. Just the idea that I’ve gotta lock in isn’t enough, like passion is great but it isn’t enough. I have to start genuinely carving out time to rest OR ELSE.

Film Review Venus of Mars (2004) Documentary by Emily Goldber Never thought l'd shed tears watching a doc where a fetish glam rock band plays. Honestly felt so seen in pieces of this film, such a clear and honest time capsule that articulates the dance of gender with the world on fire. During the Q&A she was asked for advice for young trans people/ artists who feel alone today, she said "Remember your ancestors. If we're alive we'll talk to you but just remember we're here for you." When asked who her idol was she said bugs bunny. Perfect movie

More then ever, if you love a film and have the means, try and get a physical copy. Streaming your favourite films neans you don't own them, and some asshole might decide to do this to them. Or censor them. Or just remove them from netflix or whatever forever.
