I have to go to bed "early" tonight to adjust my sleep schedule for work on Monday (early for me, 11pm), & I can just feel the clock ticking down ...

I intended to get up at 8am this morning, but way overslept, so it might be difficult to sleep early tonight :|

If only I had found another job ... or my books took off.

Maybe I will get lucky and that report editing job will call me before then.

Now I'm wondering if I should even start streaming games like I wanted if I am just going back to work. I doubt I'll have enough time to play it often.

Still, doc thinks trying to go back is a good idea because we don't fully know what I can do, but that could easily be resolved just by lifting some weights as a test :|

Sometimes the language barrier really makes things complicated.

Well, my clock is now ticking.

My job insists I try going back, & my doc gave them my medical requirements, with an earliest attempt date of Aug 11th.

It seems they want me to lift more than is possible, so hopefully this will end before it starts.

What a coincidence. We were just looking for new apps to teach French to my kids.

It is so good to be back to #writing. For the past 2 years, I've had to forcably redirect my brain to focus on the boardgame, while it would try to sneak me a story idea every now and then. Now, it is back to working at full speed, and it feels nice. #writingcommunity #Authorsky

I've always been intimidated by mystery. Not only do you need to set up the usual plot, but you need to throw in red herrings, & make it all witty & clever, & then keep track of it all.

Hihi! I am author Kal S. Davian, & I write for my science #fantasy series, Nihilian Effect, which has mixes of #horror, #dystopian, & #scifi.

I'm currently writing a post-apoc pirate novel, planned to be released by the year.

Well, at this point, both the map and the sea monsters are just a cluster of information that I would just have to pick a place to start working. The map is a total mess.

I guess I could start with the first monster seen in the story.

Fingers crossed that it is later rather than sooner

In Naming the Bane, Daggis's personal strength is that he will sacrifice everything he has for his family & friends, sometimes even his meals.

His physical strength is that he can use shadows like doorways, & he's a vampire 🧛

I want/need to iron out some sea monster and map details so I can include them in my post-apoc pirate novel at the end of the year, but there is just so much work that I don't know where to start 😬

Right now it is my pirate novel. There is still so much that needs doing, yet I think I can get it all done before the end of the year. Or maybe I am completely delusional, lol.

How much are you hoping to get done in that time?

I have all 3 hardcovers and a cup of coffee on my couch!

I also think most people might just be watching more custom feeds or the Discovery feed, and Bluesky's algo for those is complex.

But yeah, Threads changed something around the time I reached 900 there, and it all tanked.

And it's not like I need fame, I just want to be social, for the sites to serve their damn purpose, ya know?

Yeah, I found a great community on Threads, but eventually none of my posts were being shown to anyone. I'd get like 10 views on almost every post, no matter what it was about or time of day.

I was doing fine here for a while, & am getting some interactivity, but it's starting to feel the same.
