She made a comment about how it’s easy for us to do it and she’s disabled so she figured we would and then left the group.

I wasn’t even aware she was disabled. I still wouldn’t do it as we are just too busy. Plus the item is already sold.

Not only that, but she didn’t even offer to compensate us for that extra time delivery would take. We still wouldn’t do it as we are just too busy but you don’t get to ask individuals for free delivery and then get mad when they don’t do it for you. Other people’s time is valuable.

Yes that is just as convenient as someone picking up an item from my home or my partners work.

Someone on marketplace got mad at me because I wouldn’t deliver an item to her home because she’s in a wheelchair.

I am also disabled and so is my partner. And I just don’t think you get to expect special treatment from individuals selling their shit on marketplace because you’re disabled.

I’ve never paywalled my articles because I know many of my readers are on disability & can’t afford it.

I’m in a terrible situation with my housing and may need to ask for help.

What’s the best way to do this? Paywall? Wish list? Go fund me?

Would folks be bothered by a GFM in lieu of a paywall?

He even got an offer to stay on at his practicum practice so he already has a part time job.

Tho he’s starting his own practice if you know someone in need in BC!

Anyways. I’m so proud of him. He’s great.

You can leave academia if you want to. His employer paid most of his tuition as he did the degree at the school he teaches at.

He didn’t know if he could do it but he got high 90s in all the courses (they were super easy, as I’d suspected) and managed to teach a great term. And got into the program.

And it taught him what he was capable of and what we could do together as a couple.

I researched every place that offered them remotely or in person, created a spreadsheet and personally called or emailed some places.

Which working full time and running a business. And I helped him with his application.

This was our first big project as a couple.

Funny story: he decided in the summer two years ago to do it and I was like… you can apply this year!

But that also involved him getting into and taking four pre requisites at the last minute and doing those courses while teaching 3 courses.

My partner worked for two years to transition out of academia by getting a degree in counseling and he finally graduated this week!

The ceremony was at 8:30 am and would have required us to get up at like 5am, so we skipped it and recreated it in our kitchen instead.

I was the chancellor.

Plus while she could have talked about her experience and referred to her faith and beliefs as part of that she didn’t. She just randomly gave a theological argument that didn’t adhere to the well established academic theological standards for writing an argument based in theology.

The essay cites the Bible and ‘God’ for a Psychology class. The Bible is not her own personal experience of bullying around gender. The Bible is her beliefs. Belief and experience are different things.

This student did not complete the assignment as written and deserved a zero.

Omg. Third year. I thought she was a freshman. This was god awful. And you’re right. Didn’t cite. Vaguely referenced.

She lacks an understanding of the readings, the topic of the essay and fundamental parts of Christian teachings.

And not all Christians think gender roles are necessary so strict. Many groups interpret them much more loosely.

That doesn’t even comply with Christian teaching which is to love the sinner, not to mock them. She also would fail in the eyes of Jesus.

What would Jesus do? Also, give her a zero.

I am honestly fascinated by the fact that:

1) Someone thought this was a good idea and…
2) Other people think it’s a good idea.
