Too sweaty to tuck the gi top into my riding pants so rode home from #karate like this.
Which was fine until I hit the motorway and my belt started slapping my leg like a persistent toddler.

Bottle of wine, a pre-paid gift card and a handwritten note from the boss: “Thankyou for your mahi (work), involvement, energy and good humour since you first joined us in 2002. You’ve made a difference and we appreciate all you have done, and are doing.”

Today we had a special morning tea provided by the school board and some of us with over 20 years at UHC got a wee bit of recognition.

I know in a more prestigious job I might get a gold watch or some such, but in a school this is pretty darn generous! #teacherlife

I love my job, particularly on nights like this. It’s Senior Prizegiving and the Kapa Haka group have come forward to congratulate the Cultural Award winners with a rousing haka. Love how the Head Boy and two of the other recipients join in and tautoko back.

I should add that I do this as I’m drinking my morning coffee so if I finish the mug I should be done with my three games by then.

I take about 1 min on Wordle and up to 2 min on Connections (as a non US-ian I often don’t get the football/basketball/baseball references), and sub-1 min on the Mini.
I try not to overthink it; I’d rather fail than stress about getting it right.
Still on 97% even though no f*<#s given most days.

Didn’t go to the protest in #welly today because the union called it off for the rather large storm. Oh well.

I’m #striking tomorrow with all #PPTA (secondary) #teachers. We deserve better pay and conditions, particularly as we implement curriculum changes in Years 9-11 with minimal support.
Young people are facing many more challenges both socially and academically than ever before.
We are worth more!

Hubby’s displaying a bunch of his planes this weekend at a model competition. Here’s the latest finished one.
It’s time-intensive and takes up an entire room of our house but I’m glad he enjoys his hobby. He’s bloody good at it too.

In #MathsToday we made tessellations using “chop and swap” x2 with post-it notes. This is my one in progress but I’ll take photos again when we are all done.

I'm convinced that leave-in conditioner is just an expensive rort that you can avoid by simply leaving in your actual conditioner. Today my hair is super soft and the curls are popping with a distinct lack of the extra-crunchy-straw feeling I get with all the extra products.
