I live in a reality where I can't buy a few books for a hundred dollars. I'm sad. :(

I'm currently preparing for a move, and my mental health is in a terrible state.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the fact that I'm writing my third book, but I haven't been able to publish any of them with a publisher. huh. This feeling of being a failure is destroying me. I think the rejection of my new short story at the open call has also affected my mental state.

hi, I'm back. and I plan to post snippets of my stories here again.

Rover shoves him back.

He doesn’t speak. Doesn’t look back.

But his hands are still shaking.

“You won’t,” Scar says, voice velvet. “Because then you’d have to stop feeling.”

For one breathless second, his hatred curls around something else—too heavy to name. The line between violence and want blurs. Again.

Scar leans in.

“Tell me,” he whispers, “what part of you misses me the most?”

Scar doesn’t resist. Doesn’t flinch. His eyes light up.

“There you are,” he whispers. “That fire. That’s the real you. You think I made you feel that? You already had it. I just brought it out.”

Their faces are inches apart.

“I should kill you,” Rover breathes. “Right now.”

Scar’s smile fades—not into sadness, but something dangerous. Something intimate. His voice drops:

“It showed you that part of you that wanted to be ruined.”

Rover launches forward, grabbing him by the collar, slamming him into the wall. “Shut your mouth.”

“You think this is funny?” he snarl. “You think breaking me down and poking around in my head is just—”

“I didn’t do it,” Scar says, still too calm. “The ruins did. I just watched.”

He leans forward. Eyes sharp now. “But it showed you something, didn’t it?”

Rover says nothing.

Scar tilts his head.
“Was it good for you?”

“Shut up.”

“Feisty,” tone soft and amused. “That’s how I know it worked.”

Rover tries to stand. His legs barely hold. Every breath is acid. Every nerve still sings with that phantom kiss, the weight of Scar’s hand on his chest, the heat of shame.

Scar sits against the wall across from him, arms loose over his knees, blood drying on his collar from a fight earlier—one that might’ve been real. Or not. His expression is unreadable. Too calm.

“Welcome back,” he murmurs.

Rover stares. His chest heaves. His lips part—but no words come.

His hands tremble. The echo of that crown, of Scar’s voice, still rings in his bones.

"You were mine before you ever hated me."

Rover flinch.

He’s already there.

It has always been a mystery to me how we writers often intuitively choose which country or world our characters' stories will be based in. it seems to me that none of us starts a plan with the thought "I want everything to happen in Italy or in another universe where people live underwater." (1/2)

I would really like the world to see my books. my stories. Even if publishers are rejecting me now, I don't want to lose hope that one day I'll be able to tell everyone about the worlds, characters, and wonderful creatures that live in these stories.
