All this to say, there is a lot more to ADHD than one might assume based on outdated stereotypes. It is a double-edged sword, both in this line of work and life in general. I am grateful for the awareness I’ve gained & hope to foster more understanding on this nuanced condition 🥰

I feel like my condition also allows me to connect with clients on a different level by giving me a natural affinity to bypass social norms and therefore pretense. If I am ever pretentious… it is just for fun! 😂

What I love about this line of work its flexibility, novelty, and cyclical nature. Every booking I make gives me a liitttle spike of dopamine that really does it for me in a way that a regular job might not. Even in the square realm, my jobs have largely been creative and gig-based.

I sleep more than most. I have a different capacity for certain activities on any given day. Decisions become overwhelming— planning October’s long tour stretch was a feat! 😂

Exactly. But there are also other deeper evils to that kind of censorship, like contributing to the already deeply-entrenched stigma that surrounds our work… Got me out there looking like a travel blogger 😭

Recently I’ve attempted to share some challenges I experience living with ADHD, only to be met with unfortunate dismissiveness. ADHD is not something I use as an “excuse” to complain; rather, I use it as context for why I maintain certain systems— working in this field, for instance.
