I also visited CPH recently & totally agree—they have much more welcoming public spaces, better transit, incredible bike infrastructure/culture, and seemingly a much safer & healthier society. Excellent museums too. Cost of living is high but many of the worst problems of American cities are absent.

My kid’s turning 18 & I’m teaching him how to drive. I was explaining that it’s important to have a mental map of the places we go frequently. We’ve lived in the same city since he was born but he has NO sense of direction or knowledge of the roads we take bc he’s always looking at his phone.🥺

But this isn’t just on him. Democrats MUST use their leverage to protect our rights, but it can’t end there.

Schumer and Jeffries can’t just go on TV or write letters, they need clear demands. We need action now.

One of the great pleasures of reading is coming across an artful metaphor. Describing AI as a “single-use plastic of the mind” is just 🤯 It’s also a perfect example of what AI is not capable of. AI is about shortcuts & optimization whereas a powerful metaphor creates understanding through detours.

Same, can’t get over that sentence. Perfect.
