Last Tuesday, we marked the 8th day of the year of the Fire Horse 大年初八with the elders and the youngsters from the CID, gathering at Hing Hay Park to call for an ICE Free Zone. We’re now accepting applications for our 2025-2026 Community Advocacy and Leadership Academy (CALA) cohort, which launches in March 2026 and runs through June 2026. The CALA Fellowship Cohort is implemented in partnership with Puget Sound Sage and Sage Leaders.
The application deadline is January 26, 2026 by midnight.

The Community Advocacy and Leadership Academy (CALA) is a 12-week training fellowship program that equips emerging immigrant and BIPOC leaders in Snohomish County, Washington, with the skills and confidence to become effective policy advocates and transformative community leaders.

Through CALA, fellows develop the knowledge and tools needed to engage meaningfully in strategic decision-making spaces such as school boards, city councils, commissions, task forces, and other leadership roles at the city, county, and state levels.
