Tigers No. 6 prospect Hao-Yu Lee has been removed from Chinese Taipei roster for World Baseball Classic due to a left oblique strain, confirmed by an MRI. He'll return to Lakeland for further evaluation, according to Tigers.

Keider Montero, who got a 3-inning save in Tigers win over Panama today, was optioned to Triple-A Toledo postgame. He's headed to Team Venezuela for World Baseball Classic, but he'll presumably be stretching out as a starter with Mud Hens once he returns.

Tigers beat Panama, 2-1, in 1 hour, 58 minutes. Detroit had just three hits, but one was a Kerry Carpenter HR and another was a Jace Jung RBI single.

Panama's lineup today includes 36-year-old OF Luis Castillo, a former Tigers prospect who played here on Lakeland's 2012 Florida State League title team. He last played in the states with Erie in 2013. He has been playing overseas since.
