The focus here is on winning but I don’t have confidence in the Dem establishment to actually stick to its values. Y’all are definitely better than Trump but beyond that I don’t know what you stand for. You talk about building a big tent but there are limits. I don’t want to be part of a tent that includes people that think that people I know and love shouldn’t have basic rights. How about we start with a clear establishment of what the values of the dem party are and go from there? I’m also still sticking to my guns on not donating until and unless I see change in the party leadership. There has to be room for new voices. I’d love to see the party learn from and boost new talent like, say, Mamdani instead of fighting those people tooth and nail. I’m sure that there will be a bit of a blue wave after the trauma that Trump is putting everyone through. But what happens after that? If its more Biden like leadership that doesn’t move things forward and tries to return to a world that no longer exists then we’ll end up back where we are. I know that much of this is out of your control. But you are in the unenviable position of being the face of an organization that you don’t have a lot of control over. I fear that if I throw my support behind the DNC I’m signaling that I’m ok with continuing with the failed people and policies that have gotten us to where we are now. Thanks, Joe

Pretty weird that the Republican Party talks a lot about protecting Christians from unseen forces and how our country is based on Christian values, but when there are hungry people to feed and sick people who need health care, Jesus Christ is suddenly a radical commie.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

Food insecurity is ALWAYS a political choice. Famine is ALWAYS manmade. People go hungry because of other people’s decisions. We have more than enough food for everyone, and enormous amounts of it are wasted—literally thrown in the garbage—on purpose.

Not only is it going to be a hunger crisis, it's going to be a farm crisis. All those gallons of milk bought from dairy farmers, all the produce, all the on sale ground beef and packs of chicken that are paid for by SNAP are subsidies to farmers who don't qualify for commodities subsidies.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

They were almost all Latino. ~130 Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers.
