It’s going to get ugly for good science. Let’s hope there’s a recovery position.

I was luckyy diagnosed at Stage1b, also fluked one of the best surgeons on the planet. And one very smart stand in GP that didnt accept a delay from a medical imaging company. Oh and dedicated people from a medical emergency air lift organisation.

Having made it through to the other side, still alive, though glancing past death twice. I would never suggest to another sufferer of pancreatic cancer to pin their chances to alternatives over modern scientific proven medical operations and a Whipple.

Kettle and teapot on the firebox because it’s Sunday afternoon and time to relax. The kettle is red, the teapot is an artistic masterpiece with the active galaxy CenA (NGC 5128) painted onto the side - only teapot like it in the world.

I would like people to stop wishing #pancreaticcancer on people they don’t like - even the Trump. It’s a terrible affliction, it makes life unbearable. An insidious disease comes out of nowhere to strike you down. The Whipple can remove the cancer but still the after effects are a nightmare.

The real question is … Do you remember when Australians were progressive? Politics moves with the times and the mood of the populace. It’s not possible to lead if people don’t want to follow. Sheep dogs might be cute but they don’t negotiate with the sheep.

You need to see what these can look like if you’re in regional Australia and order from the USA. If only I could visit so many places on holidays.

What’s the point of a website that has a huge amount of crappy bullshit going on and with every attempt to scroll it just tries to load even more crap. Your website is unusable.

It was pilot/human error, it’s obvious that the plane was trying to compensate for something gone wrong, or the pilot was trying to compensate for a wrong setting. It’s not the 1940’s anymore and the cockpit crew need to understand the way the plane wants to fly.

Luckily the GP sent me for a CT. Turned out there was delay, at the next visit he immediately phoned the scanning company and told them to do my CT now as a walk-in. From there though it was to the GI and ERCPs and EUSs before I ended up with A/Prof Whipple expert. No physical pain just discomfort.

Definitely weird bowel motions, over use of Imodium and Mylanta. I was travelling internationally a fair bit; just put it down to dietary changes. The immediate need to find a loo, and I mean immediate. The final trigger was a comment on my weight loss, over 20kgs. From someone not family.

I’m no evidence of disease, luckily caught at 1B. The symptoms obvious to the knowledgeable doctor. I don’t understand how some people and doctors seem to miss the discomfort of the early stages.

My experience with pancreatic cancer is that it can be cut out but you’re left with debilitating issues for the rest of your life. If not caught early still a likely death sentence.

Actually, I’m fascinated maybe obssessed with this. In hind sight do you recognise the symptoms? Did you just use over-the-counter pharmaceuticals? Did your doctor just not recognise the symptoms? My doctor here in Australia is an American - I’m the first pancreatic cancer he has seen.

And. The research on red wine was debunked and withdrawn. In fact it was from the wine industry and not peer reviewed.

I’m entirely convinced of this although my alcohol consumption was moderate against what I saw in others there’s likely a genetic component as well.

Here’s a small request. I’d like people to stop wishing pancreatic cancer on people - even on Trump. It’s a devastating form of cancer and affects everyone around the sufferer. It’s truly insidious and will effect every part of life for ever more, even if you make it to β€˜no evidence of disease’.
