Thanks Samson, got your comment on Mastodon but could not reply there. Anyway, I agree with your point, but it is frustrating and contradictory to read the many papers with positive results and the lack of longterm benefit. It does not align and patient deserve better!

I just read quickly but think this would be a great paper for dissection in a clinical epi workshop! I am not too convinced about the approach, and just wonder how various biases are handled. Q to be looked into also in the Nordic registers?!

Remarkable survival rates at discharge were 83%, 86%, 93%, and 93% at 22, 23, 24, and 25 weeks. The overall percentage of normal DQ was 26/47 (55%)

NICU poems?! Is this book still around, e-version maybe? Would be great to read, the NICU has poetic narratives IMHO. Was thinking before there should be a book like Nerudas ”20 poems of love and one fearful song” (free translation!)

Interesting to see how the Letby case will evolve. One of the neonatology experts assessing the causes of deaths is my former mentor Prof Norman, and another involved person is Prof Lee, both known as sound and well-regarded #NeoEBM profiles.

Interesting paper about European iron supplementation and Epo use in preterm infants, all use iron supplements but big variations in Epo use.
I don't anyone in Sweden uses Epo as standard of care (as suggested by the paper).
