I added a bit more yellow to the green energy emitted by the Corps, since in the story they were under the influence of the yellow impurity Parallax, in an attempt to make the four unaffected Lanterns stand out a bit...

I colored this in flats and then a rendered Ben Day dot effect using the technique my dad used when he colored his art pieces in old-school comic book style (see his numerous pieces for CBR's "The Line It Is Drawn" feature for examples)...

The only two I couldn't identify was the gloved hand with the wristband at the upper right corner, and the little "Pilsbury Doughboy" creature behind Guy Gardner's knee, so I followed the coloring of the printed comic for those.

Some of them, such as Vode-M and Lan Dibbux, were just an arm or a pair of legs peeking out from behind another character. But I could still identify them because of the detail Mr. Pérez could put in even the smallest of his rendered characters...

It was essentially a game of WHERE'S WALLY? I went through the Green Lantern entries in the SECRET FILES book in order, one by one, look for the character in Mr. Pérez's piece, and then color it in.

After coloring in the four Earth Lanterns, I went through my dad's copy of THE SINESTRO CORPS SECRET FILES for the coloring guides of the alien Lanterns in the picture, since the tones on the original comic covers tended to... tone the colors down...

COMMENTARY: Daughter Ilana was named after Razer’s lost love in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, whose appearance Aya mimicked when she created her robot body, so it seemed very apt The drawing on the card is my daughter Aika’s artwork, which I had featured on my Facebook and Twitter feeds a few years prior. The voice actress who portrayed Aya, Grey Griffin, had seen it. Ms. Griffin had also recorded a Christmas greeting for Aika as Aya, who complimented Aika on the artwork: “The fire from our feet burns just as brightly as our love for one another.” “Aya” also stated that Aika’s name being “very similar” to hers also pleased her. A print of 2018 fan art by my dad, Xum Yukinori, based on Green Lantern the Animated Series, created for "The Line It Is Drawn", a weekly comic book/pop-culture art sketch challenge feature on Comic Book Resources dot com. This particular challenge was to create a Mother's Day card for a comic book character suggested by a reader, and one suggestion was Aya from GLTAS. Though Aya was an animated character and not a comic book one at the time, Dad illustrated the suggestion as a mock comic book cover with the title "Razaya". The main image shows Aya's hands holding a hand-drawn mother's day card from her "future daughter" Ilana. The hand-drawn illustration was actually drawn by my sister, Xum's 6-year-old daughter Aika. It shows Aya holding an alien triangular flower and Red Lantern Razer holding a heart-shaped flower. A double arrow points between the two flowers with the words "Mommy loves Daddy" scrawled in crayon. Aya and Razer both have scribbled rocket flames shooting from the bottom of their feet which enables them to fly. The card reads, in crayon: "Happy Mommy's Day / Love Ilana". The print is autographed in luminescent green ink by Aya's voice actress Grey DeLisle-Griffin.

Hmm... I can only guess at the logic. Zero Hour was released over the span of two months (three if the Zero Month issues were included).

A panel from page 6 of issue 13 of THE SECRET SOCIETY OF SUPER-VILLAINS. The Floronic Man uses the term "efflorescently" with an asterisk, suggesting an editor's note to provide a definition. However, the editor's note was actually a "writer's note from story writer Gerry Conway, which simply read: "Check your dictionary. -- Snotty Ger."

When Floronic Man used the term "efflorescently" on page 6, the asterisked "editor's note" (actually writer's note) read: "Check your dictionary. -- Snotty Ger."

Perhaps WAR uses months because otherwise it would read "1957 1957"...

Wait until you read the "snotty" one in issue 13...

Thank you, Nate. I've found that the set kerning in some ComicCraft fonts move the letters too close together, to the point that they touch when set to italics for emphasis. I actually have to move the letters apart in those cases.

His 1970s JLA run was fun too...

Right. The 1982 version had the earlier look. The 1983 update had the later design.
