A fun thing about the question "How dare you?" is nobody who is on the right side of an exchange ever feels the need to ask it.

Leaving Ohtani on the mound for as long as they did in game one was a gamble that paid off. And the more that you can use him and Snell, and I guess Sasaki, too, the safer you are if you can build up a lead.

Not that the answer is a steady stream of slop (though I am a Bantam sicko, so the heart wants yadda yadda), but just a sense that there's a hand on the rudder. There have been good books that come up in the last ten years, but all feel like they're in a vacuum.

As tepid as those books were, a real problem with the Disney-era publishing initiative is how little gets published and how disconnected everything is from each other. The High Republic is good, generally, because it ends up being a big, cohesive, serialized saga and not balkanized little stories.

It also doesn't help that they've mastered the art of just not throwing a hittable ball to a team that is (like *a lot* of teams are), frankly, too reliant on slugging.

I am not happy that the Dodgers are gonna win this series, but also I cannot cast any shade on them for being a dynamic, high-skill team that is able to upshift into a new engine mode every time they hit the post-season anchored by *the* best solo contributor in the game right now.
