In July we were in Amherst Massachusetts for a few days. We found out the Eric Carle Museum was located not too far from us, so we went to check it out. It was pretty decent, featuring a lot of Carle’s artwork, as well as the works of other illustrators. Here are a few pictures.

Which one should I munch on, the blue or red snack? 😋

A Southern Right Whale, estimated to be around 18 meters long and weighing 80 tons, caught on camera. Stunning.

These whales are relatively harmless and they are known to interact with humans.

Amazing creatures.

Some experimental Rorschach ink blot tests, from not too long ago where I explored principles of symmetry and asymmetry extensively. It was a great experience that I’ll definitely revisit in the near future.

Deep questions, my friend.
There was a way to tap in a phone number using the hook ( three taps for 3, five taps for 5, Ave so on), that actually worked. As for what they did in those movies, I think that was just for effect.

Another set of collagraph prints of the strange dinosaur-like creature. In this case, I ran the collagraph plate through a small press. One print came out okay, the other got torn up a bit; the ink dried too quickly and I was too heavy-handed with the press.
