Don't worry, it's not only prewar publications which give the old location of such lost pots ;-)
Unfortunately, the piece has been missing since 1945: www.avi.unibas.ch/DB/searchfor...
(Some of the lost vases once in Berlin turned up in Russian collections so it might well have survived.)
Great news, congratulations!
Very interesting and entertaining evening lecture yesterday in the magnificent Grossratssaal of Basel Town Hall by AVI's founder Rudolf Wachter: "Die kecke Orchidee wird 150. Vergleichende Sprachwissenschaft in Basel 1874–2024"
Zum Abschluss dieses tollen Projekts herzliche Glückwünsche und vielen Dank!
Exciting!
Super, freu' mich sehr drauf!
ChatGPT can’t summarise documents. It shortens them, misses key conclusions, adds errors, makes stuff up, and ignores actual summary sections. Use it to summarise important texts like meeting discussions at your peril. ea.rna.nl/2024/05/27/w...
You do find it occasionally (see, for instance, the Peplos Kore).

Here is a Bavarian who appreciates it – but yes, I had missed it for a long time until it was pointed out to me by a school mate (also a Bavarian but a 'history buff')...

AVI on the road: our curator is on the way to a memorial conference in honour of the late François Lissarrague (agenda.inha.fr/events/facon...), where he will give a paper on 'Inscribed Scrolls in Greek Vase-Painting', a topic thoroughly studied by AVI's founding figure Henry Immerwahr.
Thank you, it is very nice to hear that our appearance here is welcome :-) It is (also) an attempt to make a virtue out of adversity.
Currently, the AVI database is not available due to technical reasons. Please bear with us while we are working on solving the problem. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact us here or via avi*at*unibas.ch.
