Directly looking at Golden watch
“Y-you— you do know you’re technically the mother as well, right???”
(And why is she here…? Is it because we were one? That’s the most logical explanation… though I know she doesn’t follow logic)
!!
Claire recognizes the pair and sits more upright. Turns to reassure her boyfriend.
“Don’t worry… I know these two… they’re… how do I put it… us…?”
She gently rocks the bundled child in her arms. Then turns towards the visitors
“Though… how’d you know about… this…? I haven’t told anyone… yet.”
Moments later the nurse returns to give the new parents the small bundles of joy.
After many hours of intense pain. Claire brings a small boy with a cat tail, and a girl with brown tuffs of hair into, this complex yet beautiful world.
The nurses take the pair off to clean them, while Claire sits back in relief.
“Finally— it’s over— “
They both rush as quickly as they could to London’s hospital. Taking about a couple hours. Fortunately they get there before it progressed. As soon as they get checked in at the emergency room she’s is wheeled off into a room.
(Oh god how do I explain to him!! I don’t want to worry him…!)
Claire slightly curls into her self, her tail puffed out is tucked between her legs. Trying to maintain her composure to not worry anyone
“Heh— I’m just experiencing some mild labor pains…!”
She didn’t realize she slipped in labor
!!!!
A sharp pain shoots through her lower half of the body.
(AH!! It’s happening again!!!)
“I suppose that is true…”
She has an odd feeling about Melinda knowing more than she lets on, but Claire decides ultimately to drop it since she doesn’t want to upset the professor.
“…I thought you didn’t know anything about his childhood…”
She nods her head.
“Make sense… I mean I personally don’t blame him. It sounds like a rough childhood.”
“Really? Well I suppose that’s a bit fair considering what I know from Desmond’s recounts.”
“Heh—“
Claire puts a hand to her mouth, trying not to laugh at the name.
“D-dore, I need to call him by that sometime…”
She quickly regains her composure.
“But never Hershel…? Professor this may be a bit inappropriate to ask but how much do you know of their childhood…?”
“Really?”
(I would’ve thought at least Cole would’ve said something since they’re married…)
. . .
“It’s— it’s his second name… the one I’m more familiar with.”
She decides it’s best stops talking and she continues to look down in embarrassment as her face becomes more redder.
(I’m trying to keep his identity a secret! I don’t want everyone to know that is actually the Hershel that died!!! Remember, to make sure there’s no confusion just call him Theo.)
“It’s all good! However even though I was the one to do that, Hershel—“
Realizing she said the wrong name.
“THEODORE— Theo— he was the one to cook!”
Claire looks down in slight embarrassment.
“My apologies! I must’ve slipped up— I mean— had his name in my mind!—“
“What…? Did I say something wrong…?”
She didn’t pick up on the joke and gives a bit of a bold answer.
“Actually I was the one to do that!”
She isn’t gonna elaborate anymore
“We certainly did enjoy that day! Though we mostly stayed in for the day, still it was a lovely day.”
Me too
“It’s been pretty fine so far!”
No problem… Doctor…
(Why am I not surprised…)
Of course! After it is the duty of a lady to help others in need.
…
Oh—
My apologies…
Oh?
What happened?
…
I— see…
