Ies in the basement, wrapped in an itchy military blanker someone scavenged from a dumpster ages before you showed up ar Smegma Haus, begging to be taken in--left cye swollen and bruised, lip splic, dried blood still faking out of your nostrils, the last words of your did still ringing in your cars like tinnitus: You wunna be a boy so much, then Tie gonna panich you like one. Its been weeks since you've scen him, and still, you wonder if those fists raining down upon your face had been his way of accepting or rejocting your identity. In a sick, fucked-up epiphany, it warms your heart to believe he would've never punched a girl. You keep telling yourself that until it feels true. Saab's the one who brings the black hole up. "You haven't seen it yet?" they ask; giggling, "Shit, kid, you gowa see the black hole. It's gonna blow your mind, kid. You hate the way they call you kid. A reminder that you're the youngest
