The Lone Wolf’s Pack: Strategic Disaggregation in White Supremacist Terror This paper challenges the persistent characterization of white supremacist terrorism (WST) in the United States as disorganized “lone wolf” violence, introducing the concept of strategic disaggregatio...

Hello! For research for an article (I am in fact, serious), what have been some of the Bluesky Main Characters or Discourse of the Day's?

I'm maid of honor in my best friend's wedding this March, and I would like to start a movement of putting nonconventional leadership roles on our CV. Planning a bachelor trip for 10+ people I think is more indicative of my project management skills than some of my research positions were, tbh

Maybe irresponsible to say as an academic but, I don’t know if we Americans live in a democracy anymore…?

I'm no researcher, but having grown up in rural northern MI with a deeply religious family this book is a fully realized revelation that more people need to read.

To quote myself: "Political science thrives on “puzzles,” but it is difficult to know what is puzzling about concepts, ideologies, and populations rarely spoken about, or people rarely spoken to."

It's the kind of book that can speak to both a lay an academic audience, but I particularly call for academics to take this kind of research seriously and learn from Lavin's methods and style.

Review of Talia Lavin, Wild Faith: How the Christian Right Is Taking Over America Author(s): Minter, Shea

My book review of @swordsjew.bsky.social 's Wild Faith with the Journal of Right Wing Studies is out!
I thought it was a compelling narrative and brilliantly researched, particularly in the impressive interview work.

The follow up is my boyfriend an I had a discussion on if it was okay to miss practice for more time getting ready/prom pictures. Never thought I’d get mad at a 28 year old for saying he’d want more time with me if we went to prom together.

The boys I coach had prom yesterday and it was a fascinating sociology lesson

Me too! I thought it could be survey fatigue, but when you combine both alignment categories it seems like too high of a percentage!

I submitted a free survey question to @verasight.bsky.social at MPSA this year asking respondents whether they believe the term “far right” describes their politics: got some interesting results! One crosstab and full question results here, I welcome any thoughts!

NYT is reporting that AfD is in second place, and similar to their coverage in the US they are using the term “hard right” to describe the party. Why not “far right”? It reads to me as calculated distancing from the political moment but I’m open to being wrong

I grew up in Pittsburgh in the early 2000s and the difference even now is palpable. Why would we ever want to undo this.

It’s so important to find the silver lining in everything. And to continue the fight against our enemies (the Chiefs and the Ravens)

new York Times screenshot of headline "Elon Musk Ignites Online Speculation Over the Meaning of a Hand Gesture"

now I didn't go to no fancy journalism school, but I think if you're writing an article decipherin' what an obvious bigot meant with an obvious white supremacist hand gesture I might mention he just got done openly supporting white supremacist politicians and shares white supremacist memes 24/7

Great thread. My lane is the mainstreaming of the far right and their strategy selection. So I guess you might be hearing from me more than I’d like :(
