Vancouver Eastside cultural crawl features over 500 artists. This is a sampling of art from only one of 50 venues! Incredible.

Congratulations, and we’ve all enjoyed every one of them! Although I’ve been posting on blue sky, I have not received any likes or followers so I think I’m soon going to have to give it a miss!

This is fun. Met a lovely man in Carmona, Spain who makes wines like the ancient Romans, using ancient grape varieties and recipes. He even sells them in amphora. How cool is that?

Was watching Salvage Hunters on the telly, where they visited Wentworth Woodhouse, the largest privately owned home in Britain. To my amazement, they had this incredible full length statue from Herculaneum. Personally never seen it before, but it is jaw droppingly beautiful.

So sad that the only time I ever got to Haddon Hall, they were closing just as we got there. Never did make it back. Sigh ….

There are quite a few online that are very similar looking rings, but none with this particular carving. Here’s one example noted as a Victorian cameo ring but most I think are 1930s.

I know hey, this one is a real mystery. I thought if anyone might know it would be you two.

This was my granddad’s ring, which I assume he purchased in England possibly circa 1930s. Any idea what the carving is of?

I forgot to ask you is this strictly Roman history, or other? I’ve also always wanted a piece of Almeric Walters pate de verre. Dream on …

That’s beautiful. The one I remember seeing, and I’d have to try and find it in my photos, was a very very fine hairnet. I’ll send it to you if I find it.

I’ve seen one of those hold hairnets at some museum or other, and it’s hard to imagine how anything so incredibly fragile lasted!

I wish somebody would make a modern version of the Hercules glass. You and I love so much. I’d be first in line.
