Consequences will not be felt today, but 5 year, 10 years down the road, when you're diagnosed with cancer, and you need a new clinical trial to hop onto, or a new drug to let you watch your grandkids grow up, they won't exist. Why would anyone choose to side with cancer against humanity? πŸ§ͺ

Ok, reinforcement learning fans: RL is great, but what do we do when there's no obvious reward from the environment? What about perfecting a golf swing or a foxtrot or a musical performance? We may have an answer. A tale of 🐦 🎢 + 🧠. 🧡1/ #bioacoustics #prattle πŸ’¬ #neuroai #compneuro

Speaking only for my own experience, bad idea.

That intro paragraph in a review, LLM-able as it is, is the beginning of understanding the main import (dataset, hypothesis, findings) of the work. Identifying reasonable errors and deficits (and solutions) stem from that basic understanding.

Here's an infographic showing different ways to include age as a predictor. The top shows two extremes, just as a plain old numerical predictor (imposes linear trajectory) vs. categorical predictor (imposes nothing whatsoever). And then three solutions in between!
