I designed the main character over 6 years ago now, and the game's evolved so much since it's initial concept in a way that's consistently engaging... I've been playing the game almost every day this month because it's that fun

Please, play the demo! We all worked hard to make it this far ๐Ÿ’—

Collection of pixel art dinosaurs, all on floating islets and all featuring a singular colour scheme per dinosaur. Therizinosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, Hypsilophodon, Baryonyx and Olorotitan are done. There's another mystery one that's not ready to reveal yet as it's still WIP.

Been slowly chipping away at a Season 2 of these guys. #pixelart #wip

Page 9 of a pencil sketchbook.
Panel 1: The mechanitch is suddenly in shellshocked-type thought, flashing back to a period where she was angry. In the thought bubble, she is in a more conventional outfit - a work tshirt with employee badge, and short sleeves. Her arms are raised (and slightly hairy), and has no gloves. She is standing to the side of a flowerpot-like automaton - robust mechanical hands and forearms, a conical head, and a tie and employee badge. The automaton has closed grooves where eyes would be, a spiky line mouth, and a cheek marking not unlike Pituccia's (but a different shape). The automaton has one hand on its hip and one hand raised, with a single finger pointing up. It has a ring on one finger, with a note saying "(he's taken...)" pointing to his ring. He says "PLEASE FO NOT ARGUE RELIGIENCE WITH THE CUSTOMERS." The mechanitch is loudly responding "BUT IT'S AN OBSERVABLE PHENOMENON, COBL! THEY'RE DEIMES!!!"
Panel 2: The thought bubble ends. The mechanitch smiles awkwardly and says "That's... a great point, Mg.!"
Panel 3: The mechanitch is attempting to remove the lid from the scroll tube, which is taking some effort - she's biting her lip. She says "It... has been argued... that patronic tech is a poor fit for cars. A machine weighing fifteen hundred kilos needs... to be more predictable than a-"
Panel 4: The lid successfully comes off with a loud POP!!, interrupting the mechanitch. She says "- God.", finishing her thought.
Panel 5: A close up of the wizard laughing, mouth wide open and forked tongue in view, with the mechanitch hunched over the lidless scroll tube in the background. She has an embarassed-type expression on her face, but a label does say she was "prepared this time". The wizard says "HAAA! that battle was lost the moment they put a sapien behind the wheel!"

Page 10 of a pencil sketchbook.
Panel 1: the mechanitch is still hunched over, holding the scroll tube, and has just snickered involuntarily with a "sNnrrkt". In the background, the wizard takes another relaxed "fwwwt" from their bong lead.
Panel 2: the mechanitch goes a little further down, and has started giggling a little "pfffhe he he he he he", a tear coming to her visible eye. The wizard glances over with a smile on her face, clearly pleased to have broken the ice. However, there is an inset close-up of the wizard's face with a look of shock, with furrowed brow and surrounded by exclamation and question marks.
Panel 3: The wizard arms spread wide and mouth open wide, raises her voice at the mechanitch - who is now kneeling, one hand on the ground, and clearly about to put the tube on the ground. The wizard says "what are ya doin', lass!?", while the mechanitch mutters frustratedly "okay please stop interrupting."
Panel 4: A close-up of the still-gripped tube with scroll sparkling inside. An inset rounded speechbubble with the mechanitch's head says *The scroll needs to be corrected...". A similar, angular bubble just underneath with the wizard's head says "not on the dusty GROUND!!!"

Panel 1: Side profile of the mechanitch, contemplative, holding a small wand with an upside-down star on the end. She says "...I suppose the story you need to know is different from the one you were told as a child, then."
Panel 2 is the rest of the page - two drawings, between text. The main one is of a woman with visible artificial joints, bare legs, feet, and arms, and a segmented chin. She has a pattern of a rose and thorny vines on her left arm, avoiding the joints. She has long, dark hair across her face, a simple dress, markings on her cheeks, a flower in her hair, and a halo of closed eyes like her own. She has a long, cylindrical nose, reminiscient of Pinocchio.
The smaller image is of an imposing man, with strong shoulders and an apron with chest hair visible. He has dark, wild hair with a bald spot, elf-like ears, a large squidlike moustache, and basic rectangular glasses. He is handling a sawhorse made from a largely unprocessed log.
The text reads:
"Gepphaestus, the Hemiurge of craftsmanship, a man of steel and crucibles and swords, was challenged by His brother to create something truly unlike Himself. So He traded His anvil for a bench, and His hammer for a whittle. He would build a successor from naught but the humble sawhorse. Where Gepphaestus was dismissive it would be inquisitive. Where He was judgemental it would be empathetic. And where He told lies, the wooden child could only speak the truth - lest the enchanted wood grow, wefting and warping His work. But this is where the scholars have found new texts. In His pride, Gepphaestus believed the opposite of "man" was "boy". The truth, as the child was bound to tell, was that His progeny was not puppet but doll. Pituccia was Her name, the embodiment of artifice, ingenuity, and commitment to upholding the truth - even when it costs us. It was said that She was fine counterbalance to Her father, of equal wit and intellect, and a reminder of the limits of perspective."

Panel 1: the wizard, looking contemplative, takes a drag from the lead of her giant bong to a "ffffwt." sound effect.
Panel 2: The wizard turns to face the mechanitch, tilting her head in a tension-free way and letting the bong lead rest in her hand. She has clearly thought the story over. She says, while breathing out smoke, "and it's in the wrong name."
Panel 3: A close-up of the scroll mounting in the hood of the car. The mechanitch has her hand on the edge, and is wiggling the wand into the gap between the scroll and its mounting, clearly trying to pry it free. The wizard continues "the scroll. the one you're removing."
Panel 4: Shot of the mechanitch, only half her face visible but completely in shadow. Behind her is the wizard, in the same pose as in panel 2, completely in silhouette save for the sunglasses. The smoke is still coming off the bong lead, but has mostly disappeared from around the wizard's face.
Panel 5: A close up detail shot of half of the wizard's face, looking rather unpleasant in a "living her best life" way. There's a slight gum visible in the wizard's open-mouth toothy smile. Her hand with the bong lead is barely visible underneath her speech bubbles. She says "fair play, that version of the story is different from what i remember!" Slight pause, denoted by a new dialogue box. "but they wouldn't be Gods if they didn't surprise us!" Gods is underlined.

"wizard car" returns. Going to post less frequently to keep it sustainable, but excited to keep on exploring this world (8/?)

You ever think about what you might be missing out on from dropping contact with someone

Been thinking about what my life might be like if i still talked to some old friends. I hope they're doing well

Tell your friends you love them, and cherish your time together

Panel 1: The mechanitch glances towards the wizard (not pictured in this panel), taking a moment to think of a response to the wizard making fun of her.
Panel 2: Almost identical to panel 1, but with the mechanitch shutting her eyes nonchalantly and gesturing towards the car (also not in this panel). She says "You clearly know your stuff. Why'd an old sphere head like you need me?"
Panel 3: Again, almost identical to panels 1 and 2, but this time she has a very smug smile while continuing to have her eyes shut. Behind her, the wizard's speechbubble is full of ranting. Some of the words are obscured, but you can make out "old!?" (Underlined for emphasis) "i'm a spritely three-hundred-n'-two!! barely a quarter of my --"
Panel 4: Wide silhouette shot. The mechanitch is walking towards the car while the wizard is so mad steam is wafting off her head. The mechanitch says "Don't sweat it, mage. I can fix your hexer up like new."
Panel 5: The mechanitch is very close to the camera, such that we can only see a bit of her boot, and the backpack she was wearing earlier being put down with a gentle "Put." sound effect. The wizard is in the back with the mechanitch's motorbroom, still angry, but with her face in her hands.
Panel 6: Identical framing to the previous panel, but the bag has been completely put down, and the mechanitch is tiptoeing forward with the sound effect "Tip toe.". The wizard has dropped their hands, a little less steamed. The mechanitch says "Good instinct popping the hood, but the way..."

Page 6 of a pencil sketchbook.
Panel 1 and 2 are a before and after of the mechanitch pulling a lever from inside the open hood. She says "...but you MISSED a step!".
Panel 3 and 4 are a before and after of the underside of the car. By pulling the lever in panel 2, a series of mechanical legs - kind of like a laundry clothes horse - have popped out of the underside of the flying car, giving it somewhat safe points of contact with the ground.
Panel 5 is another wider shot of the mechanitch having taken a step back from the car, dusting her hands. The lever continues to vibrate a little, and her backpack is sitting at her feet. She says "Okay. Now it won't break my toes if we trip the Thaumic off."
Panel 6: The mechanitch turns back. She says "Mg. Erstwham, before I get the scroll out, did a previous mechanitch bring the Pituccia thing up...?"
Panel 7: A rather simple, silly looking version of the wizard holds up a single finger, and speaks. "he said I wasn't paying him enough to care about something like that."
Panel 8 is just a tiny sliver underneath the previous speechbubble of the wizard. The mechanitch looks extremely goofy and tiny, and has her eyes shut in exasperation. There is a sweat drop next to her, and a long sequence of ellipses......

Panel 1: A clearly retro-looking 1960s-esque car, hovering just above the ground. Instead of wheels, there are strange metal coils, like screw gears, which are implied to be the levitating element. The bonnet is popped open, with something bird-like glinting on top. The license plate reads "XH26โ€ขZB5", in the region of "๐ŸŒ™ PFERD".
Panel 2: A look from inside the car's open bonnet, with lots of strange mechanical detail (and a book and scroll) towards the motorbroom rider and Mg. Erstwham the wizard. The rider has taken off her backpack and is holding it one-handed, with the other on her hip. The wizard is looking at the rider while gesturing towards the car, saying "it's a beaut, isn't it?"
Panel 3: A close-up of the glinting birdlike object on top of the open bonnet. It is a metal crow hood ornament. The wizard continues "a thirteen-sixty-two Corvone Stellesta,". Inset, the rider looks nonplussed, glancing up and to the side.
Panel 4: Another shot of the engine's mechanical detail. Inset is the motorbroom rider again, looking noticably more fed up. The wizard continues "with a duel plate-and-ignition H6-star enscrypgine, it-" but is interrupted by the rider, who says "Mg. Erstwham, I'm a mechanitch." (mechanitch is a portamenau of 'mechanic' and 'witch', and is underlined for emphasis.) "You think I don't know Stellestas are all pieces of shit to a fault?"

Panel 1: The wizard laughs an intense, short burst of "HA!" in large lettering, spooking the mechanitch. You can see that the wizard has a forked tongue and dangerous-looking teeth, and her sunglasses have bounced up off the top of her face. She is pointing in the general direction of the mechanitch, but the response is too involuntary to have aimed properly.
Panel 2: The wizard is looking rather more sinister, with the hat over her eyes, one sharp tooth visible in her grin, and holding the sunglasses with two fingers by one of its arms. Visible in one of the lenses' reflection is the mechanitch's face, trying to play it cool and looking away but visibly still unsettled, with the cartoon indicator of small sweat drops over her. The wizard says "nothin' gets by you, lassie! my car's a nightmare.", with the last word underlined for emphasis.
Panel 3: a look in the bonnet of the car, at a scroll, inscripted plate, and backwards-bound book with ribbon bookmark laid on top (these were all visible on the previous page but not drawn attention to prior). The wizard says "the owner's tome has misprinted recovery runes,".
Panel 4: A view at the floor of the driver's side of the car, with a gas and brake pedal in the focus of the shot, and the driver's side door still open. The wizard continues "the whoa pedal has a habit of catching,".
Panel 5: A silhouette of the car facing the viewer, with the road to the right. The framing is extremely isolating, with not a single living thing in shot. The wizard continues, but without a speechbubble to really hammer this unsettling, weary feeling home: "and it broke down in the middle of the desert."

Page 4 of a pencil sketchbook. Thanks for the warm response to "wizard car"!! Continuing the story... (4/?)

A black and white comic, done in pencil in a sketchbook.

Panel 1: A distant view of a road running through a barren desert. There are a handful of large clouds in the sky, a sign in the distance, a mountain even further down the road, and a loopdeloop in the other direction. There is a broken down car and some sort of encampment with smoke coming off it. Down the road past the sign, there is a small dust trail being kicked up. Floating in the sky are the words '"wizard car" by viv g'.
Panel 2: a close up of a bearded person's face. They are wearing a big shaded hat and slightly oversized sunglasses balanced on their knobbly nose. Reflected in the sunglasses are the broken down car from panel 1 (with the hood popped open and apparently no wheels), and a look further down the road towards the oncoming dust cloud.
Panel 3: a close-up of what appears to be a motorbike, with a jumpsuited person wearing gloves riding it (and fast). The motorbike(?) has a strange inscription on the side, and no front wheel is visible - instead, a cylinder is mounted underneath in a bracket, with what appears to be woodgrain on the end of that cylinder.

Panel 1: A wide shot of what we thought was a motorbike and its rider. It's actually a motorBROOM - a combination of modern motorbike and witches' broom. Smoke gently pours off of the bristles as it stops, with the jumpsuited rider placing one boot on the ground gently. There is another, different inscription on the other side of the motorbroom's gas tank, and a container box behind the seat. We can see that the rider is wearing both a backpack and a striped helmet with a wing on it.
Panel 2-4: a short sequence of the rider taking their helmet off, revealing a feminine disposition, robust nose and bangs covering a single eye. In the 4th panel she says "Mg. Erstwham, reg. ex-heich-twenty-six, zee-bee-five?" In a rounded-rectangle speechbubble.
Panel 5: The wizard takes a moment to look at the rider, with both in silhouette save for the wizard's sunglasses. The wizard was in the middle of taking a puff from a truly gigantic bong with lead, which is what was causing the smoke in panel 1 of the previous page - they've been here a while.
Panel 6: Two shots of the wizard. The first is of them coughing terribly with the onomatopoeia "KOFF KOFF KOFF". The second is the first good look we get at them - elven pointy ears, a big-ass cloak, and droopy hat. In a hexagonal speechbubble, with additional "koff"s behind it, the wizard states "this is she.", all in lowercase. Up until this point, the reader has been led to believe this character is a man. Examine your biases!
