I, too, believe we're born w/ certain innate abilities --well, most of us, anyway lol -- that, if left unexplored/unnurtured, are lost to time. Take language, for example: If taught a 2nd language prior to the age of 6, we're more likely to retain it--and to sound like a native speaker.
