As I'd stated in an earlier post, there IS a contingency fund, which HAS been utilized during PREVIOUS Gov't shutdowns.

SOMEONE TOLD (ordered; directed) USDA NOT to release money from the contingency fund. Because the Trump admin WANTS people to suffer, INCLUDING children. They simply do NOT care.

IIRC Walmart also gets a tax credit for employing SNAP recipients. AND since they're one of the biggest grocery stores in the country they get a lot of money directly from SNAP when SNAP recipients grocery shop there. So, they benefit from SNAP coming and going.

Tragic. They were able to get off the boat, swim to shore, spend a night in that Barn on Naushon. Boat's radio washed ashore, next day. Son made mayday call. They were rescued and airlifted to Boston. But the mother is now dead. And the dogs, who alerted them of the fire, went down with the boat.

I could be wrong -- and I realize that many of you think I'm wrong (because I am contradicting what most here seem to be writing about this) -- but from what I understand, it cannot be done without the Speaker's input and Approval. And we all know that that's not going to happen.

I believe that in addition to this, i. e., the selection of said Federal judge being determined and chosen by the Speaker, the actual ability to proceed with a proxy administration of the Oath of Office under mitigating circumstances, would then lie with Congress itself, via House Resolution.

Because the Speaker of the House is the one who'd have to approve the use of a federal judge in his stead.

In the past, when a representative-elect needed to be sworn in but was, for example, unable to attend the swearing-in ceremony, a federal judge, approved by the Speaker, administered the oath.

It is what you think it is… they mean to starve the poor folks.
