I recall a couple of years ago, a prestigious western cartoonist (who shall not be named) took a commission for fanart. There name is inherently linked to a distinct style seen across multiple productions. For some reason, they chose to deviate from their own style and it looked rough.

As long as you get the likeness across, but it still bears some remnants of your fingerprints, I don't believe you should beat yourself up about it.

That's funny, because I've struggled to produce my own original designs for a while. Working with existing designs for fanart is fine with me. Even when I buckle down, I'm rarely satisfied with my original stuff, kinda embarrassing tbh.

Oooohh those hands, you make it look so easy. It does feel like a bit of a departure from your usual works. In any case, great job with this!

A Kyoko Sakura fanart. I honestly have not even watched any episode from the anime so it is not the best. I just like her design.

Arle Nadja as seen in 'Puyo Puyo Tetris'.

In my opinion, they fumbled the bag with the paid stuff (Mega Man aside), so I was looking forward to these updates. Crossing my fingers for Arle from Puyo Puyo.

I've enjoyed Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, but with that being understood. Nights leaked at launch, Ai Ai is predictable and Tangle and Whisper? Alright, more waiting for me for the 'and Sega' bit to fill out the roster for real.

It was strange that a bunch of games in that State of Play were using english VO, only for BlazBlue Entropy Effect X to show up and... yeah, of course not.

Ivysaur is napping in the sun; the horizon has moved since, so Ivysaur is now partially covered by shade. Ivysaur gradually opens one eye as it awakes.

Meanwhile, in the second photo, even though the windows take up a larger ratio of the composition, you can see fine reflections from elsewhere in the cabin. It's subtle enough to break up the void of nothingness, that way it doesn't feel artificial. This is perhaps something you could consider.

See, with the first photo, the windows are absolutely not the focus, even if it its pitch outside. The leading lines of the overhead lighting draw attention towards the centre. They've also got effects and filters to soften the intensity of any deeper crushed colours.

Would you not see any kind of lighting from signage or buildings, for example? Or (if implied to be leaving or arriving at a stop) from the platform? It's just a suggestion.

I assume from the colour choice, it's meant to be night. Because you've got those massive blobs of blacks out of the windows. So perhaps you need some sort of cityscape far off in the distance? Just an idea.
