I’m here to serve 🫡
Please enjoy this video I have been obsessed with for the past few days
Ours closed too! A real bummer
Oh and while I’m complaining, I’m so glad that our local Food Basics (which is literally across the street from an LCBO!!!) has stopped carrying a bunch of their grocery products to make room for several shelves of beer and wine.
Same!
Haha I know, it’s adorable!
I’m so glad that Doug Ford is doing his best to gut the revenue the province makes from the LCBO so that his pals can make $$$ off of private alcohol sales. I used to often think, “Wow, the LCBO is so inconvenient, I wish I could buy beer at this supermarket that has exactly the same opening hours.”
Good idea! I put some chili crisp on it last night, but didn’t think of sour cream or croutons. You’re a soup genius! Merci!
Oh he would hate that SO MUCH
Hahaha definitely hard to tell!
True! Life is a rich tapestry, you never know when someone might break out the scuzzbucket mystique
Hahaha I remain neutral, I do not describe it as scuzzbucketry, I simply smile and occasionally ask him to shave
Oh hell yeah! He’s dying to go to the pyramid and stay in the hotel there (which will make a fun trip someday, once the long American nightmare is over)
I did actually suggest that, but certain members of my household wish to use it for easy weekday lunches for the foreseeable future. To be fair, it does taste really good — it just looks whack as hell.
There is no parenting handbook for the period when your teenaged son desires to grow a patchy mustache and look like a little scuzzbucket
Anyway, even though I made 1.5 times the recipe to use up extra coconut milk I had from last week’s butter chicken project, it all came to under $10. Now we will have green slop soup leftovers available for the next week and a half! (My childhood nightmare)
Made lentil soup in the slow cooker yesterday. For some reason the grocery store was completely out of red lentils, so I used green lentils and just cooked it for a bit longer. It tasted really good but between the lentils and the spinach, it kinda looked like dystopian green slop. Yum!
Yeah, I just saw my kid every time I looked at Hamnet. Could only think about how losing him would absolutely rip my life apart. Such a gorgeous film, but I’ll probably never be able to watch it again haha. And I knew what I was signing up for because I’d read the book!

It’s a travesty that cheese and onion isn’t really an available flavour in North America. We have strayed so far from God’s light…
Oh dang, those both sound incroyable!
Saw Hamnet with my mom this week & towards the end of the movie she wordlessly passed me a tissue because we were both silently weeping. I read the book in the early pandemic days & the movie was just as devastating.
But also I think this video of the cast dancing to Rihanna might have healed me.
Right? Living the dream!
Ohhhhh that sounds heavenly. Going to try it tomorrow, will report back. Thank you!
I’ve never tried Brets, but now I need to!
Omg you are in for a treat. I became obsessed with them when we were in Ireland a few years ago
An impossible choice! I loved them both so much. I think Spain was extra fun because my kid was there and I can’t wait to bring him to Italy someday.
BREAKING: A STORE IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD HAS JUST STARTED CARRYING TAYTO CRISPS. MY GOD THAT CHEESE AND ONION GOES DOWN SO SMOOTH, I FEEL LIKE IT’S A CRIME TO BE EATING THESE DURING LENT.
Aw ❤️
It goes well with my other fav Catholic food fact, about your buddy the pope who died from too many delicious melons (seriously, I think about the article you wrote about those melons all the time!)
