Wales to align Deposit Return Scheme launch date with rest of UK The Welsh Government has announced plans to align its Deposit Return Scheme implementation date with the rest of the UK.

Positive news for the UK Deposit Return System 👇

♻️ Tasmania joins the global push for deposit return schemes with Recycle Rewards, tackling litter and lifting recycling.

With beverage containers making up 45% of Tasmainia's litter, this move makes Australia the first continent fully covered by such a system.

Estimates from @reloop.bsky.social are that the BBBB will save 5.4 billion bottles and cans yearly, enough to overflow Yankee Stadium. This only happens if we raise the deposit from a nickel to a dime, which should increase redemption rates to near 90%. @leaderasc.bsky.social
