#showmeyourknits A very muted version of MidMod cowl by Sweaterfreak. Malabrigo worsted Inolvidable and Polar Morn. I feel like it looks like a worn out Turkish wool rug.

A new FO in some light, bright colors to verve up my winter blues. Cafevotten mittens by KO strikker. Yarn is Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull, in ballet tutu and spicy orange. (Trying to work from my stash only, and this time it worked.) #knitsky

#showmeyourknits gray week... Here is the first whole sweater I ever knitted! It is Verdure, by Ambah O'Brien. I did a sweater test knit. Lots of bobbles. Malabrigo worsted in Polar Morn.

(cont.) I believe this is being done so Trump can use the Insurrection Act and claim total power. Please stop him. Don't allow him to abuse especially our own citizens but also immigrants who are legally here, and even those illegally here and not causing trouble. This is NOT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

Regardless of party, the American people are not in support of an overthrow of our democracy and Constitution. There is a segment who won't realize it until it's too late, but I'm going to speak for them. Do not let our good country be taken over by thugs who deploy thugs within our own country.

What we are seeing in Minnesota is what authoritarianism looks like in real time. Racism, dehumanization, and state-sanctioned violence are tearing at the foundation of this country.

I'm kind of shocked that there are vet surgeons who will still perform the procedure. But these cats are plentiful here. :/

I'm aware (including the chronic pain and issues)... there are lots of cats for adoption that have already been cruelly treated this way. The q is for knitters, is it reasonable to protect your yarn and garments by adopting one that's already been declawed, but with these pain issues?

Oh, just the best picture I've ever taken... of a squirrel jumping from the chair into the bird feeder! And a very fat dove! Love this bird feeder.

Mittens are damp so they look a little rough. I couldn't wait.

Sorry Sarah, I see you make socks! I'm sure it's the pattern, not you. Deep breath.

It sounds like you need a worsted weight or DK yarn. 20 sts per 4" doesn't sound like a sport weight gauge. You can go up and down one or maybe two needles sizes, but after that you're making a net. (Are you making a net?) (I use a size US 3 with sport weight yarn.)

7 years in between R & L mittens. I used different yarn.
A small moth-hole in the first one. Oof.
Now I have another pair of shoveling mittens before midnight.
Pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... A minimal pattern, so if you've never knitted a mitten, this isn't the place to start.

A crocheted circular knob cover for a metal teakettle. The brown and gold circle is shown covering the knob on top of the kettle lid. The kettle is a deep, dark green enameled cast iron Staub 1.5 quart.

Not a knit this time! Just a simple knob cover for my teakettle lid, which gets really hot! (Looks like I might have missed a tiny spot. It'll be okay.)
This is Madelinetosh Vintage in Brick Dust.

On a school field trip to see Pirates of Penzance in SF in 8th grade, I kissed Patrick Cassidy when I got to the front of the line to meet him.
