Hot off hearing his dad films sexual trysts, Dawson thinks “why not?” and tries to capture his and Jen’s first kiss w/o telling her. But manages to film Pacey’s first time… with his English teacher. The 90s were something! And that something was statutory rape my friends.
S1:2 2) He admits to using his son’s camcorder for a sex tape, and 3) he mentors his son on the kissing using a severed head prop meant to be Joey. All three acts are suspect but again, does Mitch think once his restaurant shoe box diorama is complete a bank will look at it and say here’s your $$$?
Dawson’s Creek S1:E2 There is a dance where things happen for the main teen characters, but we need to talk about Mitch Leery. In this episode, Dawson’s father: 1) keeps working on a scale model of his restaurant concept and everyone keeps actting like that’s how you plan a business??!!
On my bike ride into work this morning a hawk swept over me in the sky, landed on a lamppost, and then took a dump. I never realized I held assumptions about what hawk poop would look like, but this moment absolutely defied them. If this wasn’t the Kantian sublime, I don’t know what is.
S1:E1 Honorable Mention for a BANANAS Adult: Film Teacher Mr Gold, who is watching THE reveal scene in Psycho at like 8am on the first day of school. A plot device to show Dawson’s film knowledge? Maybe. A sign this teacher is burning out? Absolutely.
