As a decades long 3D artist who used Maya for many years, I would say that Blender is not only viable, but preferred. ZBrush still has the edge for sculpting, but not by much.
12.09.2025 16:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโll end this with something Iโve said before. Art has value. Itโs an essential service. What we do, is one of the most important jobs on this fucking planet. Do not undervalue it or yourself. Ever. Fight for it. Trust me, you will never regret that. 5/5

Was that on my story?
The comment references my story over at Cossmass. Either someone took a wrong turn at Albuquerque while leaving comments, or I have an AI stalkerโฆ It does seem odd, but also extremely specific. And I agree, it doesnโt seem like normal AI spam.
Higher quality AI spam? :shrug
I read other ppls stories and sit there and think....writers are fucking brilliant they make up these tales and they make you laugh or cry or get mad or disappointed or nod your head.
It's incredible. For real.
But what do you do if you are already full up with both of those?

Maybe the proofreading for typos and the archiving of rejection letters, but not the part where I put one word after the other. That's the fun part. Research and crafting a story are the only parts I really want to do.
Each product created, with intention, by people. Designed to be functional and appealing. I'm less concerened with what art we choose to celebrate, and more concerned with why some people are so eager to have us devalue the art around us. Video games, and commentary on them, are art. They just are.
02.05.2025 15:09 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't say this to refute your argument, but to expand it. I think the question "are video games art" does a disservice to art. Many people have come to think that products can't be art, but they are. All of them are. Your kitchen chair, traffic lights, a tube of lip balm, all art.

I don't know where I heard, but I like the phrase "smarted yourself stupid" to describe exactly this sort of decline. Person does somewhat smart thing, and thinks that they are, in fact, smart. In all areas. They also tend to think that opposition to the majority is 'smart'.
"Disruptor" syndrome.

25.03.2025 21:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I look fantastic in the sunset. Two meters tall, my body wrapped in carbon lace and diamond film. Wings that shimmer like transparent satin ten meters wide. Sheer as a dragonflyโs, tough as seashells. Feathers canโt compare. Iโm gauzy bright on midnight purple, and pretty from tip to tail. When Iโm in the sky, nothing looks better than me. Nobody watches birds anymore. A shame, really.

If someone in authority tells you to delete history, destroy books, erase scientific data, deny evidence, ban access to information, don't. Just don't. Back that shit up in fifty thousand places. Protect it. Keep it safe.
No one on the right side of history ever burnt a book.
