I do this too :) I only use the pretty ones though, and avoid the ‘negative’ colours so I can psych myself up for the tasks I don’t enjoy so much 🤣 You’ll smash year 3, esp. with an organised diary! 😍
Where did the time go! Are you going into year 3 already? 🤯
I always feel like Outlook needs more colours for EP work 😅
Another important set of considerations!
Having practiced LA, private, Scot, Eng, in person, remote - as an NQEP I think it’s so important to follow this topic and reflect. I often think about the presumption of mainstreaming in Scotland and how that often shapes the EP role as strategic

Important considerations about remote assessments and the impact on quality, as well as privatisation of EP work.
I always find seeing how the child interacts with the school context to be a valuable piece of information.

“Books with no purpose” 🙌🏼 Love this, my dream for every school break
Since the DfE's new writing framework seriously downplays the importance of emergent writing, I'm giving away a free copy of my book on mark making because it 100% *does* matter! ☺️

Very important report out today from the Youth Futures Foundation exploring factors accounting for escalating mental health problems in young people. Lead by fantastic colleagues from the University of Manchester (@olademk.bsky.social et al). Report here: youthfuturesfoundation.org/what-we-do/f...
The traumatic experience of tribunals for EHCPs is often told from the parents' perspective - for good reasons - but looking at it from the school perspective tells us a huge amount about the disaster of the current system.
Excellent piece from @ellencph.bsky.social

3, or 2 as a runner up, as they evoke a feeling of calm and contentment 🧘🏼♀️ The sight of a laptop creates a different emotional response for me 🤣 so I’d put 1 last, but it’s still nice 💕

Just over an hours drive from where I live, and then an hours walk into the wild! There’s a waterfall at the back, very pretty gem hidden in the hills! 😊
Feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to finish writing a report today after yesterday’s walk up to Corrie Fee. There’s something magical about this place ✨ #EdPsychs #CorrieFee #CairngormsNationalPark
‘EHCPs aren’t just bureaucratic paperwork – without them, it becomes far harder to ensure the right help gets to the right child at the right time.'
Jane Harris, CEO of Speech and Language UK, issues a warning to DfE about scrapping education, health and care plans
This is brilliant. It has me reflecting on how, in Scotland, parents aren’t generally fined for children not attending. No praise and behaviour points, where some children feel quantifiably labelled as more ‘bad’ than ‘good’. It certainly isn’t perfect here, but is an interesting contrast!

Seeking participants! ✨
I am exploring what indices of social justice are collected through referral forms. I am looking to recruit EPS willing to send across their referral/consent form, to find out more please email hannah.whiteley-2@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk

Enacting the UNCRC means children have rights to consent, to be consulted, and to complain. But often adult myths about their capacity get in the way.
@jochamberlain.bsky.social and I asked children & young people what they thought of these myths - here is what we learned!
