We don't, but whoever requests the recount has to pay for it unless it changes the outcome of the election or changes 10% of the votes (which is pretty unlikely to happen). So the larger the margin, the more likely a recount request is just a waste of money.

Her work as president of NJ Working Families is well known amongst in state progressives because she's been getting things done where others have failed. Mejia is a socialist with experience

The seat was redistricted in 2023 to be more solidly blue (dropped Sussex County, added places like Maplewood) but it's still unheard of to go from a solid red seat to socialist in less than a decade.
