I loved these guys. To me, and I mean this in the best possible way, they sound like the house band in some apocalyptic strip club in the desert. So original! It's amazing the vast sound that comes from a 2 string bass, drums and sax.

Finally hunted down a copy of Morphine - Detroit Bootleg that came out this RSD. Like everything of theirs, it’s f’n fantastic. I miss this band.

De Amerikaanse band Morphine timmerde in de jaren 90 stevig aan de weg met een uniek eigen geluid, dat onder andere is te horen op Cure For Pain uit 1993, vooralsnog mijn favoriete album van de band rond Mark Sandman.

This mornings commute is brought to us by Morphine. I forgot I have Bootleg Detroit from this year’s RSD haul. It’s a solid sounding recording of such a great band.

(can't believe he died 26 years ago. overheated in an nonairconditioned rome concert space during a heatwave.)

I briefly dated someone named Nicole in HS (they junior, me senior) who opened my eyes to Morphine (the band) via a burned CD.

We made out while watching Dogtown and Z-Boys. I (literally) walked on Nicole's back while Morphine played-I still like Morphine.

We don't always really know what we want.

LOVE Morphine! Such a unique sound. Music noir.

If you haven’t heard them be sure to check out Mark Sandman’s earlier band Treat Her Right. Very similar sound. I saw them live many years ago.🖤🖤
